Idk why people are just criticising mediatek chipset, who said mediatek phones don't get updates, its the brand who dont give the updates, just look at Nokia phones, nokia 1, nokia 5.1 plus etc got the pie update and they will get the Android 10 update too, n for gcam now mediatek phones are also getting gcam ports, and yes I agree custom roms aren't available for mdtk phones, that is the only negative point that too for small number of people, but if brands give proper software support then the need of custom roms also decreases...

I am really surprised viewing the number of people looking for more options. I mean I was really amazed viewing the features of the smartphone, its immense gaming capability, the great camera and the storage etc. at such a low price. Redmi Note 8 Pro would get a much better response in India than in China, I'm sure.

Chipsets are prone to heating by Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with the liquid cooling system to mitigate the emerging heat.

We know through benchmark that helio g90t should perform amazingly but what about real-world conditions? when temp reaches 40 Celcius in the room will it perform the same? what if i am charging it while gaming? how much heat it will produce then? In these conditions i have experience with mediatek, they might or might not blow up the lag will be staggering. Hence i will avoid unless some real world revies comes out. also an amoled display is now a must in 200$+ segment.

I feel bad for people who are not able to recognize the true potential of mediatek helio G90T, in my opinion its the best gaming chipset and to power the pro variant of Redmi note 8 is a big thing

I am sure the number of buyers would increase once the other people review the device. I find Redmi Note 8 Pro too good to resist due to its amazing camera, MediaTek Helio G90T's smart gaming enhancements at such a low cost.

Redmi Note 8 Pro has built so much excitement in me and my brother that we can't wait to play PUBG on it. When he told me about Helio G90T and the features I was like so whelming. I think the postings in the thread and everything is faking PR. MediaTek has impressed with great innovative chipsets and that too in the budget, like bring AI in a phone under 10k.

Nolan, 08 Sep 2019MediaTek phones do not have device GPS support, and that's ... moreHad a Zopo 990 with Mediatek chipset. It had GPS support but it was rotten. Only with the latetst EPO files you had reception once in a while. Fix times were unacceptable.
My Mi Max 3 has beautiful GPS support, up to 30 Satelites in view, very fast fix times.
Snapdrogon. May be the new Mediatek chipset is up to date, but bad experiences will stick in peoples mind.

Redmi note 8pro comes with exciting features and good hardware for the money. helio G90T is paired with liquid cooling and oodles of RAM and storage for incredible gaming experience.. already in love with the performance of helio g90t

You're talking about nightmares? Dude, MediaTek in Pro version is something not acceptable for SD fans like you. Xiaomi knows that the chipset is great and even many tech junkies know it. I don't know it would be your nightmare using MediaTek phone knowing it is doing great then we can't say anything!

Frankly, I am waiting for this Redmi Note 8 Pro, this Helio G90T powered phone is best for PUBG gameplay and I am a freak of playing this game. Not just for this matter but yeah, it is great to see a gaming phone is expected to be available in our budget. MediaTek never fails to impress, and this device is one!

Misstep? Redmi Note 8 Pro sports such amazing features, such as the high-quality gaming chipset by MediaTek and superb camera, that it is hard to look beyond it. Exploring options is not bad but Redmi Note 8 Pro is the best in the upcoming smartphones in India.
