At Least one of these should have been 5G, Talk about coming late to the party. Im not saying these wont sell but some people might be thinking Do i really want to get stuck in an expensive 2 year contract for old tech, while my friends in 2020 will have moved onto 5g?

It is because only apple is using iOS. And they are releasing only 3 phones a year.
Apple is still No.3 in the world and Xr was worlds best selling phone.

Apple is user friendly maybw but I think users would like to have more customization.
Gotta admit they have quite the name tho thats how they are selling.

But I would always give respect to apple for they ability to sell expensive phone. And making just 3 models a year being able to be top 5 is amazing.
Apple is good to keep things simple and user friendly. Their airpods, apple watch is pretty good as well.
Only thing what I don't like about apple is price. But people are still buying, so I guess that is the thing which never gonna change. But even Samsung flagships are getting more and more expensive.

Fail because: 1. No USB-C. 2. No Apple Pencil support. 3. Cameras stick out unlike my Note 9. 4. Lack of customisation flexibility with iOS. Again, Android rules on this. Business Calender > Agenda widget on my Note 9 home screen is invaluable. 5. Can't pause during video recording unlike Samsung, LG etc phones.

Also, what you just said implies that apple sells only because of the marketing strategies and not the phones being good. But I am neutral guy and these are just some thoughts they can be right or wrong depending on the reader:
Honestly, if Samsung actually did release only 3 phones y'all would call them copycats but at the same time, Samsung would have enough time to develop new and better things that would make Samsung a better value for money. Also, Apple has a name and %60 of users don't even do a proper research before-hand.
Both have their own shortcomings and strong-points though.
Feature and customization-wise, Samsung is better. I mean, customization is just way too superior on android but even this is about personal choices.
Performance-wise, even though apple is better, %90 of you guys play subway surfers and candy crush at max and as long as they have 60Hz displays, performance won't really be that different. You get 60fps at everything with SD855 already. Not saying that Apple devices aren't better but, it doesn't make sense without iPhones having at least 90Hz display. (Samsung falls short here as well tho)
In the camera department, Apple is really great but even the camera is about personal choices. You get a different phone if you like more saturated photos and same goes for the situation where you like your pictures a bit darker with better shadows. You still can edit your pics after taking them though you gotta remember that.
In the battery department, SoT is great on both of them but apple mostly gives you 5W chargers at max (in the box) and you don't get the reverse wireless charging too so......
In the storage department, Samsung phones do a triple front flip while apple struggles to jump. 128/256GB base storage with up to 1TB SDcard support against 64GB base storage of apple. Don't even go "Apple has iCloud" because so does Samsung (not icloud but you get a lot of cloud storage options too)
In the Display department, it still is a personal choice and both are great. Curved screen is a pain tho ngl.
In terms of durability, iPhone is actually better. But Samsung phones are durable enough as well. Both have water resistance too.
Privacy and Security are better on the iPhone as well. Also, the bloatware of Samsungs is just a pain.
Samsung kept the 3.5mm jack except for note10 series and A90. Don't go saying "3.5mm jack is old"/"You don't need it anyway"/"we have Bluetooth and NFC already adapt to feature cave guy" etc. Because it's wrong. Having the need to charge your headphones as well as being forced to pay more for them isn't a good thing.
Siri is great and better than Bixby but I think Bixby Routines is simpler and more user-friendly than its counterpart. It still has some way to go though.
In the end, its all about personal choices. Being a fanboy that doesn't acknowledge the strong and weak points of every smartphone is not the way we should be going for. Neither of XR and 11 is worth 700+ price tag maybe 600. Samsung overprices at first too though, but they take it down in a short time.

Apple Inc is going down in flames and I'm a bit ambivalent (mixed emotions), the company is hostile to it's customers but the some of the software and hardware will be missed. I hope they change their wicked ways before they go bust but if they do it might be too late.
