high-horse, 02 Mar 2012oh my GOD! didn't i just say i'm not trying to argue here, ... morein my experience, a lot of apps people download for ios and android, symbian has out of the box.
i will agree some apps are missing, but some apps you can only find on symbian.
in the end it boils down to this, number of apps is the only thing missing on belle. in my opinion, when it comes to everything else, belle is on par or better (multitask, stability, battery managment,...)
the reason why samsung, htc and other will never be able to do something like the 808 is because they just assemble devices out of bought parts. nokia couldnt find a sensor like this, so they made one. i really doubt any other maker is capable of this. you can understand now why nokia didnt choose android, but wp. Wp still has very low market share and nokia has more libery with the os than others.

AnonD-3575, 02 Mar 2012camera on the n8 is light years ahead of any mobile, so ima... moreoh my GOD! didn't i just say i'm not trying to argue here, and here comes a Symbian-knight in his shiny armor to the rescue!
Belle is propably awesome and all, but why wouldn't i go for WP7 for example? afterall, that's what Nokia is seriously pushing forward.
main problem is, that Symbian lacks apps, seriously. even WP7 lacks apps, seriosly. i don't need all the half-a-million crappy apps that are out there, but substantially better support for them.
all the new apps today come to Android and iOS first (if not ONLY), iOS still leading in this department.

GDX, 02 Mar 2012 android or ios still can't handle such a pureview tech...what do you mean can't handle? ofcourse they could handle. it's just that Nokia came up with this kind of tech first, and all the power to them because of it. i just mean that it's not enough for me to choose that phone.

high-horse, 02 Mar 2012ok, i'm sying this once more, and i'm not trying to argue h... morecamera on the n8 is light years ahead of any mobile, so imagine what the 808 is like
symbian belle has virtually no bugs and is the most stable os (with wp7) out there today. no spying on users, no app crashing, total control.
if im uncool for appreciating that, well im uncool and proud of it. at least i wont have to change my phone every year

Finally, I can take some hi-res pics and not have to worry about someone hacking into my phone and stealing all my pictures (like iOS and Android).

ok, i'm sying this once more, and i'm not trying to argue here, since i'm looking all the phones objectively;
808PV has an awesome camera, but so does iPhone 4S and some Androids, especially the new HTCs wich were shown at MWC. i don't really know about the cameras in Windows Phones. i guess they are good too.
is the camera better in 808PV than in any other phone at the moment? propably (insert "yes" here if you have better knowledge in this than me). is it substantially better? no, not in my opinion. especially when it means that i would have to switch back to Symbian. it's just not worth it, IMO.
if, on the other hand, you find Symbian sufficient for your needs, then why not! afterall, it's supposed to be the ultimate cameraphone.

Hahaha omg, i'm lol'ing at all of the Nokia fanboys here.
I'm basicly laughing so much at you that i'm almost falling of my chair, because you all goes fap fap fap over some megapixels on a camera while forgetting that this Nokia is running an OS called Symbian.
Symbian was dead years ago and it's one of the most crappy OS'es for mobilephones that exist today.
For all i care, you can have a Nokia phone with 456875395679487 gazzillion megapixels camera, because as long it runs Symbian, that's gonna destroy the rest of the phone completely.
On top of that it have a piss poor screen with 360 x 640 pixels resolution or with 184 DPI. I mean, give me a freaking break lol.

AnonD-21645, 02 Mar 2012And this is exactly my issue with this... It's a good ca... moreyes, that's true... But it 's not a big deal for a symbian's fan... There is no big difference between HD VS nHD in such small screen... Symbian is not that simple... There is a limitation in win 7... It will take alot of time when win 7 can operate such pureview technology...

It seems very impressive but actually this phone is designed for some pockets with fool owners, because as pixel density goes up the technology and quality of the sensor should increase more. If you ask some professional photographers they will tell you about it. In other words, imagine two sensors with same quality that one of them has more pixel density, this one gives you absolutely more noise even in bright views. If you want a noisy photo go for this phone.

Anonymous, 02 Mar 2012very high resolution it's not good for noise and sharpness ... moreYeah... And you realy think they woukldn't put effort on the processor. READ THE ARTICLE. There's a special processor for it.
Some times, they even use image processors from other companies, so, it's even possible that there's a Digic inside it, or some DSLR manufacturer image processor. Think about, iPhone's high quality audio is delivered by Samsung's audio chip, and so is the A4, and A5, if not the memory too.
Read first It's not a DSLR, but a phone with a great camera. And it's not a stupid ching ling phone with says that have 12 megapixels and don't have more than 1.
It's not about having a giant number of pixels, it's about the sensor, bigger than most compact cameras, and what it does with the pixels, the feature called PureView. Read first.
