It is a... morecouldn't agree with you more. besides, if you're up to the task, custom roms is what makes android superior over any other smartphone os that ever existed. i have the first galaxy note that i kept for keepsake of my previous fanaticism with samsung, and i was able to flash it with a note 9 rom based on android pie. this is not to defend samsung, rather all adroid oems as a whole.

Apple wants it's customer to stay on the platform as their big revenue does not come from selling their crappy devices, but from selling services at a high price, a thing almost all iphone users will pay for, selling dongles, watches and lock it's customer in their ecosistem. Well, on the other hand, Android manufactures make money out of selling devices, as android for them is just an operating system that, at the moment, is successful and they can use it. The big thing here is, google makes more money out of this, then they do. So, at some point, they need to sell another set of devices to survive. Comparing this business models with eachother is not quite smart now, ain't it?

Well Samsung will never gets 3 updates of android on any of their devices not even Fold get 3 updates and thats a 2000 euro device.
Thesy only wants your money but when they gets them they wont gives you anything because they dont need to gives you anything.
Its samsung so dont expect miracles.

Dear samsung again you are doing wrong. I have s8 plus and not getting the android 10. You should do some changes on updates. As apple gives an update to their 4-5 yrs old phones. You should follow the same.

I am not greedy to get any latest android version. But still I am happy that my beloved Samsung A9 pro 2016 will get android 10. Wow.

Wow! I still have a month of EMI for my contract to end and Samsung is already outdating my phone (S8). Way to go! I do agree with MKBHD & Mr Mobile here. Cheap phones/mid rangers are getting way better than flagships minus a great camera, waterproofing & wireless charging. In that case, even if you plan on reselling these phones, you don't end up making huge losses. Never buying a flagship again.

Here's the thing, that's the limitation of Android. It is available to almost any and every company out there, if they choose to do so. That's why it is incredibly unfair to compare an open-source software to a private software(Android vs iOS). Google cannot physically update every single phone that has existed and also uses the Android OS. It is just pointless to complain about how a Samsung Galaxy S8 wouldn't get Android 10. If you have it, deal with it. Or go buy an IPhone. That's all. Don't be going to an article and decide to rant about how the S8 wouldn't get Android 10, because, it has no purpose. Some people will be annoyed about that. Sucks to you. Complain, or just upgrade, or buy an IPhone, you do you. And I'll tell you all this, the Galaxy S8 will not get Android 10, no matter how much you rant about it. I bet you it won't happen. Keep going, if you decide to. I am done here.

Apple make their own phone, SoC and OS of course they can update and optimize their iPhones easily, plus do you know how many phones Samsung has released in 2019? I counted 32...
That's ten times more than 3 iPhones.
Do you think Apple will be good with updates if they decide to launch 40+ iPhones each year? I doubt it.
Even if you count all the iPhones that came out since 2007, it haven't been 40 iPhones yet.
