Par of the course. Sure more devices are able to support it than the ones mentioned, but it would be a waste of time and effort for them to update all devices that can support it.
And they are slow as hell in releasing updates as it is, add more devices and it will be even slower 🤣 I dont know why we expect so much.

Apple has been caught lying about throttling iPhones performance. So their 5 year updates is pointless.

meanwhile in android case every manufacture have different schedule for each their smartphone and how long they will support it

For eg, currently S10 gets faster update, S9 updates wont be as fast as S10 and unfortunately S8 does not get updates after 2 years..... S8 will continue to get quarterly critical security updates atleast for one more year but not guaranteed..... I propose either Samsung provide atleast 2 years warranty or price their flagships equivalent to Oneplus price.... Ideally S9 and S10 has to get Android 10 beta and final os updates at the same time. Why not Samsung challenge themself to provide security/beta/os updates for entire 2018 or 2019 models at the same time.... In this regard Samsung has to really learn lot of things from Apple.... This attitude will definitely help them to be a market leader.... Company with short term thinking cannot benefit in the long run.....Thats why people are moving towards Cheap products and happy to replace it evey one/two year....But Apple charge upfront for 5 to 6 years upgrade..... If you have money buy apple. if you dont then buy Android.
