20 September 2019
The feature is meant to prevent random shutdowns on aging batteries.

That camera comparison between the iPhone and Note 10 from SuperSaf is good.

Being an Android person I think the iPhone did a better job 90% of the time.

Should be on the top in Dxomark shortly

[deleted post]Not very clever is a "feature" that often have people that buy iPhones. Not sure if their brains have a throttling feature feature too. But is clear that almost half of them even unknown the phone they have.

acemang, 21 Sep 20192019 almost 2020 and still talking about headphone jack?Makes you feel important if you can complain about something, like the lack of a headphone jack.

Bet those people cannot afford a Redmi Airdots anyway.

And some will bash me saying what about those who owns $1,000,000 headphones made by Bose Olusfen Jabra-JBL?

Well, you don't use your phone for that

IT ONLY ACTIVATED IF YOUR BATTERY HEALTH ALREADY NOT GOOD (below 80% maybe) If your battery health still good (you just bought the iPhone 2018 series) you don’t need to worry about this feature. And if you face this problem, you have choice to TURN OFF this feature or CHANGE YOUR PHONE BATTERY. So it doesn’t always mean when u face this problem, u must buy a new iPhone. This feature for me is a GOOD REMINDER. Luckily as an iPhone user i never happen to face this problem, i change my iPhone every 2years and i’m planning to still stay with my iPhone X until next year.

Hello Life, 21 Sep 2019of course.. but I think it doesn't degrade enough in 1 year... moreIt is not activated based on how old your phone is, it’s activated when its battery health is bad. And it’s now optional to have it throttle or not even when your battery is old so what is the problem?

My battery on my now two years old iPhone X is still fine, no throttling needed ofcourse.

It's after 2 years, I start seeing degradation, iPhone XR and XS are only 1 year old and Apple is already adding this throttling thing?

The whole Apple ecosystem is rotten.

Also having a 3rd party company install a new battery will not solve this issue, would need to go through Apple authorised servicer

i really was considering returning to iphone this year, because on android all new devices are too big for me.
after this news, not anymore. thanks apple for making my decisions easier.
wtf are you thinking? we are all reta*ds? slowing down 1 year old devices because of "bad" batteries? 1 year you have "crap" batteries???? really? and you brag about 5 year support?
bah...waiting for pixel 4. guess if it's a disapointing...1 more year waiting for a device that suits me. hope people stop giving money to companies that doesn't give a sh*t about them.

Oh my gosh this is what apple does, the best innovation in the tech world, no wonder they're a multi billion dollar company. Honestly Tim cook should get a raise, he needs to be rewarded for all the innovation that he does........

travstr, 21 Sep 2019Mate 30 (not Pro) has a headphone jack.Which is bs for a phone off the pros size to not have a headphone jack. And it's just one more compromise slash problem to add to the list of what could have been a far superior device. Especially with the google issue already at hand they should have been smarter about making it more attractive to purchase. I want it just for the camera but will end up skipping probably.

"The feature will only be activated when a weak battery is detected"- read: when your phone is one year old you have to upgrade to a new one. i mean, can you trust a company is not after your money if they apparently profit up to 4 times the overhead cost of their product?
