This is definitely far more practical than any of the current foldable phones, but at the same time the price is way over the top for what it offers & the value of the brand.
The choice of premium construction materials is appreciable, the camera has potential, other specs are also top-notch for the time, so there is plenty to impress, but the price tag will turn off most buyers. Also, it Is truly an Alpha product, and will likely come with it's own set of problems or compromises. So it will remain to be seen if this turns out to be a successful product or not.

They are very costly to repair in any case. I assume anyone who buys a device in this price also insures it.
There will probably be a front and rear layer sandwich, possibly even three parts, but tempered glass screen protectors will come for this I'm sure. Same goes for plastic screen protectors and bumper protector for top and bottom as well.

This is not going to sell well due to many reasons.
1. Xiaomi is not known as a premium brand.
2. Only some people will agree to pay such ridiculous price for a phone.
3. It's going to get outdated in a year just like any other phone.
This will do her some attraction but it will be a huge fail tbh

Amazing piece of tech. Little sceptical of the how strong it could be and the likelihood of accidental touches.
And it way too expensive for me to even consider.

Always good to see innovation, but... doesn't look like the most practical or durable approach. I hope this is not what the future holds!
(Imagine dropping this and having to replace the screen/glass...)

Tony, 24 Sep 2019This will be the most epic fail in the history of smartphones. The Galaxy Fold holds that title. With Samsung's Note 7 being the "Honorable mention".

This is actually an interesting phone, still a bit skeptical with the whole functionality and also durability. Nevertheless, it's such a nice thing they come up with this unusual approach.
