darkmax, 25 Sep 2019So a unilateral trade is what the Trump's USA wants. Quite ... moreTrump want all how a baby boy, he just think is the best around the world and wants to prove that the world needs them, but they don´t need anyone, when the other countries start develop their own products, the world will start supporting those technologies just to destabilize the US market, and at that time they will realize the mistake, but it will be too late.

Huawei has already developed Harmony SO., The only thing that it expects is to solve the issue with the United States but at the moment they implement it in cell phones, the US will lose millions, and Chinese and / or Korean companies to obtain more profits they will buy the huawei system low cost.

AnonD-241270, 25 Sep 2019BIG LIE! Qualcomm are no big deal to Huawei, Huawei dont... more"in a US FTC (Federal Trade Commission) trial in January, an attorney representing Qualcomm stated that Huawei sources only 22% of its modem chips from Qualcomm. Qualcomm lost direct shipments to Huawei due to the trade ban"

"Qualcomm (QCOM) has been among the hardest hit by the Huawei ban, and now it will suffer the effects of the newest round of tariffs, which will include smartphones imported from China. ItÂ’s been in the middle of US-China trade tensions since even before the trade war started. Last year, Qualcomm withdrew its bid to acquire NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) after Chinese regulators delayed the acquisitionÂ’s approval amid trade tensions with the US.

US President Donald Trump wants to preserve Qualcomm because of its 5G technology lead. He canceled BroadcomÂ’s (AVGO) hostile acquisition of Qualcomm in March over fears that the deal would put the US behind Huawei in the 5G race. It was also the 5G revolution that triggered the trade war.

This year, trouble started for Qualcomm when Trump banned US companies from shipping any technology deemed relevant to national security to Huawei. No 5G-related technology can be shipped to Huawei until the trade war ends. HuaweiÂ’s CEO calls this move the USÂ’s attempt to stop the company from leading in the 5G space."

Both quotes from articles at marketrealist.

There also another thing to think about.

"he rise in Huawei’s China shipments didn’t help Qualcomm. But the U.S. firm does supply to Huawei’s rivals such as Xiaomi and Oppo, both of which saw declines in smartphone shipments in the second quarter in China, according to Canalys. So Huawei’s gain hurt Qualcomm." -CNBC

              BIG LIE!

Qualcomm are no big deal to Huawei, Huawei dont need them so much cause they can produce their own SoC, their own modem's and so on...even tho, Huawei recently want to sell their 5G department and i wont know why!

...so, Qualcomm is not suffering and are not losing too much, i dont see Huawei phones with Qualcomm SoC for long time even before this trade war so, whats going on here?!

If Huawei relies on a SD855+ for their Mate 30 (i mean, if they waited some time to do it so) maybe their phones can sell even more.

Kirin 990 is just not there anyway, they cant reach the performance of SD855+, so, sorry Qualcomm, Huawei still not going with u anyway, why are you bother about them?! let them go.

I think your approach is wrong, look where you sell your phones and you will realize that it is not in the USA, it is China, India and Europe

[deleted post]Qualcomm will have other clients as big as Huawei, I doubt it! this war USA has lost the biggest market in Huawei is Chin

Huawei said it would lose $ 10 million, I think the US will lose much more with this war, Google especially

It says here that they are hoping to strike a long term deal with Huawei, but I hope they don't. It would be Qualcomm's best interest to tie Huawei to a long term contract to prevent it from starting a microchip business or investing into another local company, but its like USA is trying to tangle Huawei under this supplies game to manipulate its growth. The moment USA sees it fit they will pull another shenanigan and call Huawei a threat to to restrain their growth, then strike a deal that benefits them to start dealing again.

Huawei should aim to become a self sustainable company like Samsung and Sony.

So a unilateral trade is what the Trump's USA wants. Quite stupid if one thinks about it. If you are allowed to sell to Huawei, but they are not allowed to sell back, eventually they need for these components from USA is going to dwindle. So who suffers?
