maybe apple DID use gorilla glass in 200-6-7, the gorilla glass before might possibly be different back then and still being refined so the iPhones' screen get scratches, it would be safe to say...iPhone used chipanzee glass, an earlier version of gorilla glass. hehehehe,

seriously...they might be using an earlier version of corning.

No one from Apple confirmed it's Gorilla Glass the company uses for the iPhone.
Corning makes different types of glass for different purposes, Gorilla is only a single flyer in their rich portfolio. I don't doubt Corning makes high quality glass for iProducts, just NOT Gorilla Glass.

Apple is known for secrecy when it comes to component details but when a well known partner comes into play they need to spill the beans. At least that's what they did when they adopted Intel's processors for Mac's. I'm sure once Gorilla Glass lands on any iProduct, we'll hear about this.

if it is really gorilla glass that apple claims on the iphones and can withstand from drop and impact Why does it shatterers the front and back glass panel and the galaxy s2 front glass screen without a scratch

and a video shows a galaxy s i9000 with gorilla glass being hammered several times before the guy hit with some force to smash the glass after from several attempts

That's what the book says. There's half a chapter all about the glass.

But send an email to the CEO of Corning and see if he can confirm this as being true.
