Nokia 808 PureView to skip the North American Market

06 March, 2012
Not a huge surprise, since Nokia already said they won't be releasing Symbian phones in North America.

I was once a Huge Nokia Fan, I even bought the White Nokia Bh-905i headset from them, but once they Ditched MeeGo, I lost all support for them. It's sad to see a once favorite company struggle like this but they are doing this to themselves.

I wasn´t expecting this decision from Nokia, but I am not surprised by it. Since their partnership with microsoft, they don´t want to give anything to their flagships.

Remember the Nokia N9? wonderful phone with equally wonderful OS, doomed by Nokia themselves and now Nokia is dooming the 808 too. All the big markets are reserved for the crappy lumia series. (notice how I wrote lumia with lower "l")

But if someone wants to check nokia innovation, he should check out the ASHA range. Some of them have got 1ghz processors and USB-OTG for unbelievable prices. And even though they use symbian s40, that price to features ratio is impressive

One of the judicious comments i've read in the past few days over this forum. Honestly, i do agree for most of the comments you made now.
CBD-Clear Black display? (i feel its better than bravia of sony)
I would suggest, CBD + AMOLED is absolutely wonderful. Thats why Lumia 800 has great display, Compare it with CBD+non AMOLED screen ex: Lumia 710 both have 480 x 800 pixels, 3.7 inch size with 252 ppi. trust me Lumia 800 beats the heck of the 710 in any aspect (color depth, contrast, view angle). Again, its a suggestion based on my observation and opinion, but i'd say worth a try and you shall agree with me.

I don't know if you agree with me...but i'd still prefer a symbian device for a non-touch phone
I agree that nokia have made terrible mistakes -QWERTY keyboard, browser and fixed focus cameras are some of the shortcomings
I still like nokia hardware much better than other manufacturers, in low end devices, the cameras are better than competition and I've always found their build quality excellent across price ranges. I prefer CBD's to retina and Samsung's AMOLED
Symbian is unintuitive, can't argue that...but it's battery efficient and can do everything if you are ready to make that extra -click. I still value the Nokia brand name above all others, and am desperately waiting for them to churn out brilliant devices like they used to. Fanboy and proud of it
P.s. please nokia guys don't kick me for using the gs1 currently

No Proper commitment and progress from Nokia and Intel.but make a note, Intel moved large funds for this project. Nokia was kind of 'adamant' to take this forward in 'their way'. Lastly, Nokia's corporate decision , not to go with meego and stick with WP.

To me , as a customer, i'll buy a phone from Nokia , not Intel. Now, Who failed ?

#Reference to Samsung was not necessary, as a matter of fact not any other manufacturer too. Hope you are aware that Apple took LG's design for the original iPhone. Precisely then model of LG Prada.
                                      # I should say you have got this point , BUT let me help you, you forgot to mention Nokia Communicator which should be given the credit. Not to mention SE P800 is the first TOUCHSCREEN Smartphone though.

                                      # Other manufctureres equally have their own merits, pls dont forget that.
#pls dont get N86 8MP, Samsung pixen was the earier to it and best 8MP(in that era), refer gsmarena.
#Fyi, Galaxy S is well supported, Samsung improved a lot from their galaxy series. btw, ITS WHEN SAMSUNG USED SYMBIAN THEY CUDNT Deliver the Required Support, guess why?

                                      - Belle update: did belle acquire any new user base? ex: model 'x' has 1000 users, got reduced to 100 and now increased to 200. you call it good job?

I am surprised why you have to go bashing samsung despite the topic here to speak is about merits/demerits of Nokia.
Can you prove that GS2/tab are copied? Samsung would have SUED heavily if thats a copy, makes sense? do not make lame comments.

I have complete respect for an individual's taste /choice, never i've negated it. Refer to any of my posts if you disagree.

Good that you love Innovation, most of us do along with you. Remember, Innovation is not confined to one brand alone.

Innovation with Improvisation shall make you pioneer, and this is where Nokia failed terribly. Samsung/ Apple are succeeding.
