I just looked again at some images. In certain areas the Mate has more details because the iPhone uses more noise reduction.

The Mate 30 Pro isn't more detailed in good light. Only one image is more detailed, look at the other images (for example the very first image at the top), there the Mate has less details than the iPhone (although the iPhone is slightly wider), which is also what you would expect as it only shoots in the 10 megapixel mode and doesn't downsample as downsampling leads to worse shadows/more noise/worse colors than pixel binning.

Man that Mate 30 is miles ahead of the others. Try and read the thermometer on the 3 in the last image. Also those sun screens on the building completely stumps the iPhone and Note. This wasn't a comparison it was a beat down

why i feels that the mate 30 pro's camera design has been copied from lumia 1020??

KnightX, 30 Sep 2019Note 10 is out in the market for quite a while now whereas ... moreThis is the Exynos version of the Note 10. The Snapdragon version takes much better pictures without the noise reduction. Unfortunately GSMArena probably does not have access to the Snapdragon version.

kova4a, 01 Oct 2019Damn, the mate 30 pro is killing it in the daylight. Just z... moreAbsolutely, the best I have seen on a phone, by far. Nothing else comes close

Samsung can't even shoot below ISO 50! iPhone can go down as far as ISO 20! And just look at the shutter speed. iPhone is the winner.

As others have mentioned, the Mate 30 Pro really did something special with recorded detail. Those 10MP photos are significantly more detailed than the 12MP photos on the Note 10 and iPhone 11. It really looks like it was taken by a proper camera, with no heavy signs of over-processing. Its wide angle is significantly more detailed and has superior low light performance, telephoto is better. So in my opinion, this is a clear win for the Mate when it comes to photos. Its colors are a probably a bit off, but color processing is improved over the P30 Pro, and its more accurate than the Note 10 is.

I don’t like what Samsung is doing with their over-saturated colors and they are too aggressive with noise reduction which gives it that classic water painting look. I think Samsung should tone down its colors or should keep them in the AI option. I should also note, that the Note does not this water painting look with the Snapdragon versions and details are noticeably better than the Exynos versions which sell in Europe. I would also argue that the Snapdragon Note 10 has a slight edge over the iPhone in recorded detail.

One the other hand, the iPhone is probably the most color accurate overall, but it lacks detail. To compensate its oversharpens the hell out of the photo. It gives the appearance of detail, but its probably the lowest of the three. Its night mode is better than Samsung's. I don’t really see a big step over the XS that others claim. Its video performance, which was not shown here, is significantly better than anything on Android.

Walter C. Dornez, 01 Oct 2019I agree with the color preference. Apple's color science is... moreTake out the emotional factors, and the preference would be Apple. Checking out all the photos, it really is very consistent, and that's one of the things that makes a great cameraphone. For instance, the LG V30 had a small sensor with powerful software, but it really forced you to play with Manual Mode to get that good shot, and was kinda inconsistent. All of these can do more just on AutoShot mode. If you want things more lively like Samsung's, you can add filters which will do that. But there's no proper filter that will take an over-saturated photo and recolour it for accuracy.

The Huawei has a big sensor, so there's added sharpness, but something's wrong with their colour profile. It looks off, sort of like it was denoised poorly. And it's inconsistent.

I would prefer the Apple camera here, but the other two options are great too. Even other devices this year have had good performance, the gap in photo-quality has reduced massively this year.

I find this so funny ....

Photographer (one with decades of career) : Samsung applies too much noise reduction, this erases fine details. Also saturated colours that are not real.

Youtuber : Samsung photos have tons of details, not seen on any other phone. Best colors ever ..

I think sammy is overdoing it and IMHO, I dont like it. Looks like watercolor painting or i dunno other else. Please no hate sammy fans, I am a sammy fan too. Brothers dont wreck each other.. lols

                                      My findings are:
-Note has the flattest looking photos with oversaturated colors, while other two keep the saturation at bay(although Mate seems to have a slight magenta tint to most of the daylight image) but offer slightly more contrasty ones. I really like iPhone's color science and consistency here, though I bet other two would look more natural with AI scene recognition off.

-No doubt Mate is the best when it comes to detail rendition, as it even managed to resolve almost all the hole patterns in the first building photo without showing any moire or false colors. This is absolutely incredible given that the effective resolution of Mate's main camera is *only* 10MP, compared to Note's and iPhone's 12MP sensor, and I suspect that they are doing some sort of super-resolution algorithms or oversampling from the 40MP image to achieve this feat. Here iPhone comes in as a distant second, Note is the last with its terrible sharpening and excessive noise reduction which take away all the fine textures, but at the same time it makes me even more excited to see how much Galaxy S11 will be better in retaining details than this year's Note's atrocious performance.

-An ultra wide angle camera is again the best on Mate due to the large sensor and very mature detail processing, but ironically Mate also has the least useful ultra wide angle lens for SNS sharing because it's not really that ultra-wide at all. And I still can't figure out why Apple couldn't include the night mode for the ultra wide angle lens.

-Mate 30 Pro again dominates in low light but right now it clearly has some issues that need to be ironed out. Strong red tint in some scenes, overly soft Night Mode photos on the ultra wide angle lens and so on. Honestly I don't think Mate needs a dedicated Night Mode to beat other two as it already has a great dynamic range and detail retention in auto mode, but anyway it would be nice to see those issues being resolved in future updates.

-This "camera" comparison does not contain video recording performance for some reason, like what the hell? Isn't the tile supposed to be "still image quality" comparison then?

So Mate 30 Pro in hands now eh? Cant wait for the review.

                                        And base from the comparison:
                                        Mate 30 > Iphone 11 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Note 10.

Just look at the details preservation that the Mate's done. DxO talks about being the best texture & noise control are right after all. The new RAW noise reduction work wonders.
