i'm not from US, so u correct me if i'm wrong...

but us$400 for a 8gb phone, with great touchscreen, seems good... can't get a N95 8GB at that price....
but, it's $400 + contract...

when going with a contract, phones usually get cheaper, sometimes even free... plz don't compare the $400 of the iPhone with actual price tags of competitors...

Wow Nokia's new upgraded firmware to enable imaging sensors when u tilt the phone is finally out After learning from Apple's iPhone technology LOL.

That's high technology being able to tilt ur N95 8Gb or N82 sideways and the screen rotates itself but Only to the Left. To the Left. Big achievement for Nokia.

The iPhone can do it too but at 360 degrees. Small one for Apple.

I get your point keith, but I can't help but feel Apple has tried to enter the smart phone market as well. Where do we draw the line at 'smart phone'? As always, the interface is revolutionary, and if we were to combine that with the proper hardware and software funcatinality we've come to expect from even basic phones now, we would have the 'perfect phone'. It's the old addage: "why create the perfect device? No one would buy anymore more of our phones".

Though I dont own one....I dont think its overpriced or overhyped.

European prices notwithstanding, USD 400 for an 8GB iphone is a very fair price. Try buying any phone with 8GB at that price....

As for overhyped, again its debatable. Apple marketed the iphone like any other Apple product. This maybe strange for the mobile world but its not strange for the electronics world at large. The fact that the iPhone has many satisfied customers, proves that its not all "hype". This may seem strange when you own a USD 600 N95, but for the average iPhone owner who just switched over from his razr or other dumbphone, the iPhone seems absolutely miraculous.

AGAIN...APPLE'S TARGET MARKET IS NON-SMARTPHONE USERS...ALL THOSE COMPARING THE iPHONE TO OTHER SMARTPHONES FORGET THIS POINT. TRY FINDING A NON-SMARTPHONE THAT HAS THE iPHONE'S FEATURES AT THAT PRICE.

I realize that we cant expect the iPhone to meet everyones wants but with the new update I hope theres an option for lyrics. I sent all the time looking up the lyrics. And It would be mice not to embarass myself
because Im singing the wrong words to the song. We all know how that happens. But the fact that apple is expanding the features of the iPhone is cool enough for me. For those who are so negative about the iPhone I can only say that it is because they don't own one. I typed this from my iPhone.

"if the iphone wasnt so hyped up then it wouldnt be considered such garbage. cause u would expect something spectacular when it is so hyped up. its just an average phone with a touchscreen, (which by the way isnt new). an average phone nothing more nothing less. but for an average phone it is overpriced. but u would have expected that since ipods are also overpriced. iPhone indeed attracted many and made its presence felt for sure. Nokia, SE, Motorla, Samsung have capabilities to address phones for different segments with varied pricing options. For Apple, iPhone is the only piece - this gives them the width to spend their entire energy on one phone. My opinion is it created enough attention but it could have had more features like 3G/Disk Mode/Video Recording/SMS for multiple recipients etc...

Nokia has the muscle to match Apple but still needs a stunner. If iPhone enters Asian markets, Nokia & SE will feel the heat, especially with their 3G iPhones. Apple needs to improve its Service & Distribution channels to match Nokia if they ever want to expand.

smeone said: "Why Do You Think companies like Nokia and other rivals take its presence in the market so seriously? Are they stupid enough as well like the commonfolk to fall for an overhyped trick? "

man, u urself said it.. Nokia and SE both know that some of their customers are going to "fall for an overhyped" iPhone... that's why they fear the iPhone... it's not the phone itself that's going to sell.. it's the name and the brand that's goning to make it sell...

it is just an iPod that can makes call.. nothing more... but is being marketed as the MobilePhone with latest technologies, etc... it may be a great MP3/4 player.. but surely not a great mobile...

many people are just going to buy the iPhone because of the great marketing campaign behind it, without even considering Nokias and SEs...

for me, iPhone is not gonna make it.. maybe the iPhone2 with a better camera (3mp will make it), Shure type earphones, and a way for me to input text while travelling in the bus..

The iPhone might look good but it the features you want to use on a mobile that you buy a mobile for,The Advert showing the iphone on the internet might be very attractive to loads of people but another thing youv"e got to realise your paying to use the intenet on a mobile an its not cheap thats why that advert should be removed as my mates were asking me why haven"t i bought the iphone itold them i always read the reviews before i buy a mobile an watching the Gadget Shows an loads of reviews the iphone to me was a Waste of money to buy as i never buy a mobile just because of it Looks an the Nokia N95-3 is simply brilliant

Nokia and other rivals taking iphone seriously becoz of Apple mac users for sure a mac fan will choose iPhone over Nokia though iPhone features are of old Nokia phone+wifi and bigger screen and many iPod lovers will go for iPhone over Nokia even if apple steals 1% of Mobile market it will be millions of dollars loss for Nokia and others

Everyone who is saying that iPhone is awesome because its simplistic is right. But did you ever stop to think why it is so simplistic could it be because it lacks a lot of features. All the apps that it has fit on the main screen, just imagine what will happen when you are able to put more apps on it. you’ll have to go through folders or scroll the menu to lace you map. I mean it’s a great phone for those who want to show of but really don’t have a clue about cellphones. Btw nobody ever said a word about my iphone but Everytime I take out my n95 8gb our there is at least one “holly F**K that’s hot, what a hell is that”.
Apple has a lot to learn but lets hope they don’t self-destruct because they keep the phone locked. I don’t see how this can benefit the technological development only the bottom line for the time being.

You guys who are obssessed with dissing the iPhone just don't get it.
Your using complexity and tons of features as the sole determining factor in evaluating a devices worth.
As a former user of every treo, Helios, blackjack, Ubiquio503, and Tytn/Tilt hacked to the gills...I can tell you the initial version of the Iphone is functional genius....and the frustrating la k of features actually product planning genius....(whatdya think?...the apple developers just overlooked and underestimated the value of the many features ommitted?? Please.)
Windows OS as we know it will be obsolete within a couple years..as will Symbian....as well as every browser, qwerty keyboards and screens......because of the Iphone and its operational elegance.
So you people blinded by the Iphones feature profile (the iPhones of the near future will have them all...not a big deal): wise up the Iphone is much bigger than that.

I think Iphone is a pretty cool devive. Apple always changes the future with its cutting edge technology. However with Iphone the technology is good but not impressive for the market. Still it stands on the top of the line with cool features. I would advice Apple to add FM Radio on their next firmware........My Rating on Iphone from 1 to 10 is 8.
