Well, I've got news for you kid, not all users are AVERAGE.
I'm a business-minded tech-savvy guy. As much as possible I want my phones to do EVERYTHING it can instead of me bringing extra stuff, like my laptop.
So far iPhone DOES NOT do the job. Every other high-end Nokia, SE or even LG phone can BEAT the iPhone in terms of functionality.
I mean, what does this phone have that the Nokia N95 8GB does not besides the touchscreen interface?? NOTHING!! You guys are literally throwing away your money in buying garbage. But I don't really care, because it's your loss, not mine.
This is just the marketing hype of Apple Inc.
You know what kind of tricks they pulled on the iPod.
The first iPod had monochrome screen, then they added a colored one, then shrinked the size, then increased storage size, then added video playback, etc. Maybe soon they'll be adding cameras and FM/XM radio in the future.
But what I'm saying is: Why not add ALL the features NOW?!!
What is wrong with Apple?

Ability to send multiple people was already available in low end Nokia phone for almost three or four years back people will have no brain who will throw N958 GB for a Iphone i'm not saying iPhone is crap its just a iPod with a phone i like the design and display of the phone but features are what Nokia was offering five years back

You know all these people bashing the iPhone for not having this or not having that or being locked down are most likely the type of people who no matter what a phone has are still going to find something wrong with it.
The iPhone wasn't marketed to replace all your precious Nokia's & smart-phones. It was marketed as a product that would put your music, photos, phone, & web all in one and do so seamlessly. If you ask me it completed that task quite well.
I own an iphone, I've owned over 20 phones in the last year alone, nokia's, samsungs, htc, motorola etc. and I have to say for me as an average user who isn't out there nitpicking every little thing is doesn't have, it without a doubt is the probably not only my favorite phone ever owned but one of my favorite pieces of technology ever owned.
This from a 1st generation product? I think it is remarkable what Apple has done, and you can not tell me than any cell phone out there has a smoother running mobile OS, in six months I have yet have any freezing even after jail-breaking, unlocking, adding apps etc. Where as windows or symbian based phones I've owned have been constant to freezes and in need of constant resets.
The iPhone is an amazing product, agree or disagree, I'm not bashing any other phones out on the market, I'm just saying for all its shortcomings it makes up for them with its OS, web browser and just overall user experience alone. No it's not for everyone, business owners or employers who used windows based mobile apps etc. Yet for those who don't need to power a home automation system thru their phone it does the job and does it better than any other phone I've used.
I just get sick of hearing people bash and bash a phone that most of them haven't owned or used.
I use my phone for four things text, web, talking, and email. It does all four easily, seamlessly, and I get enjoyment of the use of it.
So keep on arguing about how horrible the device that is changing and bringing about so much hype in the mobile industry, if anything you should be thanking it for sparking a revolution in the mobile market to create devices that are more marketable to "PEOPLE" the majority of the people bashing a phone of this sort are most likely not who the phone was marketed for in the first place.

ppl ppl ppl...i read all coments posted..
1st, the iphone design was made b4 the prada sh*t, prada touch screen is week, no multi touching, interface is sh*ty.
2nd. iphone is only a first by apple, and trust me, they can make it the most powerful n perfect piece in the hi tec idustry, but they wont, that's simply business wise.
3rd. its only beautiful in design and interface thats all..its fun to use.
AND LAST but not least,sonyericsson W960i is a perfect PDA!!! only disapointment is, when taking a still picture, make sure of watever ur takin a picture of, is still n not movin, so paue for the camera :D:D

okok.. maybe the interface is really great.. touchscreen is great.. screen is great... and then???
what abt the quality of the phone calls?? pictures taken by the camera?? videos?? oops, apparently no video... and could you explain me, what went through the brains of the guys at apple to block their phones??? i'm from Mauritius, could someone take a map out, and please tell me how long i should wait before i can get the iphone without it being a brick???(lol, i used to call nokias "bricks" coz they are oversized and heavy)
just compare it with the nokia N95 8gb.. or the SE w960 (which BTW is under my expectations too.. maybe overhyped too).. the iphone is way overhyped IMO...

I find all your comments about the iphone being "rubbish" hilarious. Anyone that finds this phone "rubbish" hasnt had a play around with it for half an hour. It is streets ahead in so many areas. Yes they messed up a bit with the no video and no multiple sms, but the pro's far outway the cons

ROFL... when the iPhone was announced, i immediately thought it was gonna be crap.. just nice looking, but nothing inside that would make better than nokias, SEs, etc... but since i pulled out...
and now i'm checking a page abt the iPhone and all of u are making fun of it...lol
really, it's great... people out here use their minds.. they don't just buy what everybody says "it's good" even if it isn't... coz that's what they did with the iPod too... just compare ipods with Cowon players, and u'll get my point...
anyway, we all know what apple is great at...

over hyped to almost mania proportions,,how can a fone with features so way behind in technology create so much interest ?? Well i am talking about it now but for all the wrong reasons as such, i mean multiple sms sending is being implemented in the next update were the hell are apple coming from to announce something that most of us expected 5 years ago !!!I think that this announcement should be in wikipedia under gobsmacked as an example

the only thing in the iPhone which is New is the 3.5 inch Touchscreen! even then Nokia N800/810 has that...
iPhone and iPods are just way overhyped..its unbelievable!!

Thats great news; 3rd party apps and ability to send sms to multiple people, wow lets all throw away our N95 8GBs and N95s to buy a phone thats made by a company that doesn't know what the words; price, locked and unlocked mean, phones usually get cheaper as time goes by but not the iphone it just gets weirder and weirder, i bet even apple doesn't know what the real price of the iphone is

ok, that cool...Well what I would like to know is, should I purchase the iphone from mac itself or from a vendor. In terms of the firmware that is mention and can the bluetooth software be updated? I'm from Trinidad, the west indies.

UMMMM Nokia n95 has everything and more than the iphone and it doesnt get bricked...So i think that one is better.
