Nevertheless the 1920fps & 960fps slo-mo definitely not just by using software alone. Anandtech confirms those are pure true slo-mo. Their 7680fps is not, its using software to interpolate (like their previous 960fps). U can just sees it by naked eye.

Samsung was not only a smartphone manufacturer but also a camera manufacturer back in 2013. Of course they could make a hybrid of both, though it really sucked as a phone simply due to how bulky it was. They weren't technologically ahead of any companies just because they knew how to make cameras at that time.

SunnyB, 08 Oct 2019I don't think you understand. Because the optical zoom is ... moreUsually when the term "optical zoom" is used on a mobile phone website, it's usually referring to a prime lens with a relatively long focal length rather than a long camera module that has moving lens elements inside it. Samsung acquired the company that is behind Reno 10x Zoom and P30 Pro's periscope telephoto lens which enabled them to carry out lossless 5x zoom, so it's safe to assume that S11 will have the same type of fixed focal length telephoto module as those two instead of the true optical zoom like the one found inside Zenfone Zoom.

Because the optical zoom is created by moving the optical elements to change the focal length on the sensor, the periscope lens can not only do 5X, but also 2X, 3X, and 4X. Just because others who have 3X "optical" zoom obtained by using two cameras with two different fixed focal lengths are limited to those focal lengths, doesn't mean periscope lens has that limitation.

If you see the 960/1920fps slow mo footage it doesn't show any sort of blurring artifact at all, which means the sensor natively supports the video recording in those high frame rate settings.

It is same of imx600 ( p20 pro) but yellow instead of green.
Slowmo is just trick by software like p20 pro has.

Samsung makes their version of stacked cmos because sony does not sell to anyone.
Why do you think p20 pro can record longer than both? Software based only.

Sony imx400 has 0,512GB ram inside. Huawei would need about 6GB inside sensor do to the task. Not even counting the fact this kind of sensor costs much more than regular sensor.

Samlul, 07 Oct 2019whatever. Just curious about the 3.5mm jackYeah sure, there's room for that audio port & bigger better sensor, optics, microphone, Quad DAC, speakers, battery, 90Hz screen, heat dissipation, everything, as long as they lose their obsession with being so slim, 1cm depth would be fine by me & when graphene batteries mature & enter the fray there'll be no excuse.

And considering Mate 30 Pro has a pure 1920fps at 720p & pure 960fps at 1080p that P30 Pro lacks, pretty sure it stack more DRAM onto the sensor than what Sony & Samsung does. Maybe its slo-mo using the newer Cine Lens IMX608 sensor, as even Video Recording in standard using it.

Samsung needs to do the following:
                                        1. Create a smartphone with 4 focal lengths on the sides of the main sensor, using the slim GH1, 43.7MP Sensor, and have smooth zooming between the various lenses. Also, their f-stops should be similar, as far as possible.
                                        2. Have the 108MP sensor at the centre with a fast lens (f1.7 or even f1.5). Also for this sensor.
                                        3. Samsung should engage dual HDR, engaging both multi frame, as well as dual exposure on the quad pixels, and do both at extremely high speeds, and combine information from both sources. Plus, its pre burst buffer needs to be more.
                                        4. It needs to work on 8k video for 4k delivery, so that the 4k rivals professional 4k cameras. The 8k to 4k downsampling with ensure way lesser noise, better colour depth and sharper detail.

Samsung is also working on an organic sensor. Hopefully that materialises soon.
