BillSubiyke1987, 18 Oct 2019Is Xiaomi not updating Mi Max 3 to Android 10 and MUI 11?, ... moreIt's a mistake also from miui.en
Mi Max 3 at China will be at October, and, and global version also will be at EU.
Mi Max 2 will have the update to 11, and Mi Max 3 not, if that happens I will change to another brand.

s-pen pusher, 18 Oct 2019so much hate for a measly noise-cancelling issue. here, if ... moreOkay, but I'd choose not to compare a budget $150 phone to a proper flagship $600 phone.
Also, our cases are entirely different. Perhaps you have enough time to import your phone and do all the necessary steps to fix your phone, while in my case, I am in a dilemma of busy life trying to cope up with studies in hopes for a better future for myself and family.
I'm sorry to hear for what happened to your phone, but you simply can't tell me what to feel about my phone.
I would love my phone if it also had excellent features that no other phone in the same price range has offered.
Great battery life is already on other smartphones. Good screen is also found on others. Great speaker quality, premium metal build, excellent price tag, all of these are basically present on many other smartphones already.
Perhaps the camera quality in daylight, which I believe was the best during its time, and 4K video recording as well, but these two got neglected right after this poor noise cancelling software bug and ad-filled OS.
Like I've said, I wouldn't hate Xiaomi if they just acknowledged the problem and fixed it in an update, but they didn't, and probably never will, and that makes me mad at them the most.
It is as if Xiaomi is deliberately leaving all of us Redmi 5 Plus users behind.
And not only on us, but even on older Xiaomi phones like the Note 4, which was also never worked upon.
They did fix the problem - and that's exclusive ONLY to their newer phones. So basically, we have to buy their newest phones to have the problem fixed. You wouldn't get mad about it, would you??

Shanti Dope, 17 Oct 20191. I don't have enough time to send my phone back to Xiaomi... moreso much hate for a measly noise-cancelling issue. here, if it would make you feel any better- i switched from my samsung note 8 to the razer phone 1, and only a few months old the screen started acting up. i found that it was a common issue with the phone. the razer phone 1 has cost me way more than your redmi device because of limited availability, i also had to go to hongkong (from the philippines) just to score one unit (only to find after a month later that lazada started selling it online). the common issues with my razer phone 1 (or most of the 30,000 units they made) was the mediocre camera, dim screen, and the battery hog that it is. with all these issues, i still praised the phone for its 120Hz screen, industry leading then 8GB RAM, industry leading then liquid cooling, and industry leading individually amplified big driver stereo speakers. i loved these features so much that i even bought the razer phone 2 a year after.

Anonymous, 17 Oct 2019Pocophone F1 owners, Mi Max 2 owners and other owners of 1 ... morei had the last update to my pocophone f1 last september, my wife's redmi s2 (y2) in august, and her k20 pro earlier this month, but all are charging as before- tops up battery from 0-100% in around 80 minutes. if anything, what we noticed is reduced screen on time- my f1 used to get an average of 12 hours sot on a full charge but now have been reduced to around 10 hours (still better than my rog phone 2 and my previous xperia 1, which both were just lasting around 8 hours of screen on time), my wife's redmi s2 used to get around 8 hours but now only manages 6 hours, but no difference on her k20 pro.

PriteshThakker, 17 Oct 2019Seems mic issue is all-over your comments and mind currentl... more1. I don't have enough time to send my phone back to Xiaomi for diagnosis, as I could probably tell that it would take at least a week or two to get repaired, which is a long waiting time before I could get to use my daily driver. Besides, I already confirmed myself that the problem lies within the software and not the hardware, since the audio recorded is fine if I use a third party software that disables the internal noise cancellation feature. (Cinema FV-5)
2. Exactly, and that's just what I want MIUI 11 update to bring; a fully unlocked camera api out of the box. Make that happen and I'll immediately install GCAM on my phone.
3. I don't know how yours have completely gotten rid of the ads. I tried to perform all the best possible ways to disable them, and I managed to reduce them to manageable levels, but still present. For one, my Mi Music still shows ads when opening and an internet connection is available.
4. I do get what you're saying. I was never a fan of their low tier offerings before, but at least they offered the basic necessities that make up a good smartphone. Many brands like RealMe are now catching up to Xiaomi's game, and with such horrible problems like these, others will have an easier time surpassing them in the foreseeable future.
If they're going to provide a major update, they might as well just fix the primary problems and concerns of their users.

Shanti Dope, 17 Oct 2019"So at $120 device (that's official price where-ever it is ... moreSeems mic issue is all-over your comments and mind currently... Did you consider visiting nearby Xiaomi service center or a repair shop to get rid of mic issue? Maybe that could help
On other points, those who need to use GCam, can unlock bootloader and install / enable cam-to-api... many people already doing it on various old Redmi devices... newer recent Redmi devices get cam-to-api enabled out-of-the-box though
MIUI ads can be easily disabled in less than 2 minutes or even in 5 seconds, as different methods exists to achieve this. Ads help them earn from alternate sources to keep device prices still lower for masses. I have 3 Redmi devices in my family, none get to show ads, as I disabled them from MI apps once and for ever
Before using Redmi devices, I have used Samsung and Sony devices under $200 before 4/5 years... and I know how horrible they work, how poorly featured they been and how sluggish they go within 6 months... thus I have respect for Redmi for giving masses a respectable hardware & specifications at such a low prices... today, Samsung is correcting their new line-up prices to regain market share.... ASUS, Oppo, Vivo and Realme are competing against Redmi directly... HTC, Sony, LG and Lenovo has lost their major revenues because of Xiaomi changing market dynamics in last 4 years... I think everyone shall recognize it and give some respect to Brand... I am not promoting or being blind-follower of Xiaomi
