There are plenty of ways to abuse the current OS APIs and hooks to grant permissions to trivial things like Camera, location and Microphone.
Skype, what do you use it for? Exactly, that very app can abuse the camera to track information about you, famous case being the Telegram app using the front camera when you don't need it to, noticed by people when they had the pop up selfie cameras on the recent fad phones. You are not going to deny Skype access to the camera. Vast majority of people will simply grant permission to the app when promoted for the first time because that's what that app is supposed to do. You can be paranoid and keep manfully enabling ti and disabling it every time you use it, you might do it but 99% of the people just wont bother and there in lies the threat. Then there is that argument of popular apps that billions use will not "dare abuse" your privacy, I'll again point you to the Telegram app as being an example. Only the naive will trust any app out there, popular or not they will abuse your privacy if they can get away with it. Period.
You want to be really protected? Don't use a smartphone in the future. End of story. You are not in control, only the naive think that way. If you think you are "smart" you are really silly.

Motorola just announced their flip phone will be released on Nov. 13th. This is good news. Samsung has "reportedly" been deciding between a Razr type of phone or a slightly bigger design of the current Fold for their next foldable model. Depending on how well this phone is received, it will give Samsung an opportunity to see what direction they should take.

Bwcause you know, gotta use the black parts of OLED displays to use that camera and well..... center of the screen wont be black by any means, since you will be seeing the photo there.
