DxOMark gives extra points for versatility as well. The other phones you're comparing it too have 3 or 4 cameras on them. Doesn't take away the picture quality of the Pixel. This is what happens when you try and oversimplify things judging a camera's performance by a single number.

Didn't bribe them enough, Google.
If you wanna be cheap, don't skimp on review bribes. I hope your "Paid wannabe influencers on social lamedia" budget wasn't cut either.

Take that with a grain of salt since they give extra points for each lens and google has only 2 compared to 3 on phones like the Note. So, not too bad. I'm shocked the video score was tied with Note 10 5G for top spot...THAT is more of a shocking headline to me from what I know about Pixel video. They must have a flaw in their testing! LOL and I bought the 4XL

Considering the phone gets this score without having an ultrawide is actually a feat in itself. I personally don't use the ultrawide much at all on the phones I have that have one. I'm sure the camera is exceptional again this year. It's just missing some features other phones have.

Google is slippin' with the cameras on their Pixels or perhaps competition caught up or surpassed them...
