It's a good long term investment, but short term investment is what makes a company stay alive. A lot of companies have been looking at it, Huawei is no exception, it's just waiting for its prime time, but it's not in the very near future.

ARM is not the first, and will not be the last, company to divest itself of US content in its technology. Trump has made the US a dangerous, unreliable business partner, and by 2050 India and China are likely to be bigger than the US.

Bunch of resellers buys tons of China ROM phones, unlock the Bootloader, flash with Global ROM and sell it internationally. Users buy these phones because they're cheap compared to official Global counterparts, updates their phone via official OTA update and voila, phones failed to reboot. This happens with my mom's phone, Redmi 5 Plus, good thing is that Mi Flash tool has an easy fix. Never buy a Xiaomi phone with an Unlocked bootloader, especially when you're not into flashing ROMs via PC.
Xiaomi's displays is also a hit and miss. You buy a phone with very good display now and the next month, you buy another exact phone with yellowish one. Lol. Quality control is abysmal but you can always tweak the display using the color pallete in MIUI to your own liking.

I think ARM should picture what happen to auto industry Chinese Government required the MULTI National to partner with local and here comes a decade later developing countries were flooded by cheap cars made from China with clone design and technology and sooner if the GRAPH or Trend to be followed they will be overtaken, with less investment in R&D.
