Anonymous, 29 Oct 2019And your solution is what, buying Samsung? Apple? What a joke? Better than buying smartphones from this shoddy brand, that's for sure.

Anonymous, 29 Oct 2019Not defending anyone but latest updates aren't that big of ... moreYes, it is a BIG deal. If it weren't then you'd have to buy a whole new smartphone every year if you cared about trying the latest and greatest software features. That is one reason why iPhone users love their devices, they don't have to worry about such ridiculous nonsense and can use their devices for up to 5+ years!

People don't buy relatively expensive smartphones to tinker around with them because the company is really bad at providing major version updates.

LOL! The same thing will happen to the ROG Phone II, along with the Zenfone 6. This company can't be trusted with reliable updates.

I remember how Asus treated my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. It only stuck in Marshmallow with buggy software, but Asus never came out to give fixes.

Leopold, 28 Oct 2019This is what you get if you Join in on ASUS... Think about it!Asus was so critical of Motorola about Android updates, but it's acting worse than it.

Does it really matter? I mean most people would've upgraded their phones anyway by now. Updating old phones cost money, and if there are not many people actually use the phone, why support it for longer than needed?

It's dissappointing to hear this. Razer also forgot to update the Razer phones. I sold my Razer phone 2 mainly because of that.

Love the Community, 28 Oct 2019Wow, you just did a guerrilla campaign there. You're using ... moreYou beat me to it.
Firstly, it's ZenUI by ASUS... ZUI is by Lenovo. However both companies made a transition from their Heavily SkinnedOS back in 2017, to Less SkinnedOS in 2018, and to StockishOS in 2019. It's almost like they've been listening to the consumers.
I mean last year people were asking to choose between the ASUS Zenfone 5Z, Lenovo Z5 Pro, and my suggestion was to look at the OnePlus 6 or PocoPhone F1 instead. Or possibly the Meizu 16, Oppo FindX, Vivo iQOO and Honor View20 if the other options didn't satisfy. Since ZTE/Alcatel was out of the running and Motorola was too expensive. Although, the best option consistently seems to be year old ex-flagships on discount (eg LG V30, Samsung S8).
As a tidbit, the Lenovo Z5 Pro has ZUI 10, and it was okay. I still recommended people to skip it, or only get it if it was significantly cheaper. When the Lenovo Z6 Pro (ZUI 11) and ASUS Zenfone 6 (ZenUI 6) launched and I got to play with it, I recommended it off-the-bat, it is running a StockisOS and Lenovo/ASUS had corrected most of their problems. Something they picked up from their Moto division or competitors (HMD, Xiaomi A2, etc etc).

C'mon. ZenUI 6 is squeaky clean compared to the bloat nightmare that was ZenUI 4 and 5. With that, it means easy OS Updates. Asus RoG Phone II for being the best gaming phone out there, will get to Android 10 soon and it's easier to develop because ZenUI 6 (despite using RoG UI 2 on top of it) are stock-like and less bloated.
