Nick Tagataka, 30 Oct 2019It's not Huawei who's reporting this, why don't you go read... moreThese are those hopeless people who think it's only huawei so spy however, USA has google, apple, facebook, etc companiess which spy on them & know about everyone up to that extend which they can't even believe... XD
And there are many ways to download app and use this phone wihtout google and without google this phone is more secure then any other andriod phone ^_^

[deleted post]If you have shipped Chinese mobiles from off-the-shelf online traders you may know what I am talking about. ROM updates are not guaranteed, you can get it serviced locally, resale will be paltry for the officially unsupported devices, many official apps won’t load or get support (Banks, Wallets, Investment tools etc..). It will be highly risky to buy from exporters. The device itself may be good, but imo Mate 30 Pro slightly dropped its spec this time for a flagship category. No QHD, no 8GB RAM as standard, same screen size, besides other known limitations

Nice to see it's at the expense of Apple.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2019I'd rather spend $1000 on Mate 30 Pro than $480 on Mi9 ... ... moreI wouldn't spend more than $500 for smartphone, I got my Mi 9 for $338.53, not $480 and it has everything above average, with performance being too strong (that I have to tune it down for more juice), except for battery life which for Xiaomi level is kinda low, but still high enough among the competitions. That's how you write a more neutral claim, instead of saying everything best while the fact it's pretty bad in certain fields like video recording. Don't get what I'm saying? Use Mate 30 Pro to record 4K@60 for longer than 40 seconds.

Anonymous, 30 Oct 2019I'd rather spend $1000 on Mate 30 Pro than $480 on Mi9 ... ... moreHuawei has everything best, except CPU.

                Oh sorry, except GPU too.
                Oh, except display too.
                Except audio too
Except video recording, except software, except battery, except charging speeds, except design....etc. etc.

See the point is, there's a fine line between being good at something and being the best at it. Huawei phones are really great, but not "the best" at just about everything as you claimed.

I have Mate 20 Pro and iPhone 11, I paid little over $100 for much superior M20P but iPhone 11 display is a set back, surprisingly it's performance may be due to slow WiFi chip but cameras in iPhone looks great just like M20P. Navigation, UI looks better in M20P which actually copied from iOS. For example, Huawei implementation of assistive touch with a rubber band like gesture completely eliminates many unwanted key press and innovative in approaching the UI aspects I feel US customers deprived of great products from Huawei.

I think they are doing good with their strategies by letting Huawei taking over the domestic market while Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo focus on the oversea markets like India, Europe and South East Asia.

The reason why? If you have a rival, you need know your rival in detail. You need to know strength and weakness of your rival. Then, combine with your own research and you can make your product better.

The brand is booming in China in the high end market. The only competition in the high end market is Apple as Samsung is almost non-existant in China and not many educated Middle class would consider Oppo, Vivo or Xiaomi for flagship phones. Stores are busy in places where competitor stores are very quiet. However, longterm the US ban is damaging the brand in Europe. They will lose trust and market share in Europe which is hard to gain back and the other Chinese brands are trying to enter Europe at the same time

I don't find this particularly funny, do you actually think a decent father should force his family to use products from his own company?

By the way, I know one user on this website who talks and bashes/defend certain companies exactly like you do. I wonder why..

Just people in China have goverment discounts for Huawei. Nothing really impresive.
