Surprised to see Huawei sell so many phones. Right up there with Samsung. Good job.
Xiaomi and Oppo will soon surpass Apple in marketshare.

  • Apple's Bubble...

Apple's bubble will burse. Having a $1,000,000,000,000 valuation is just a bubble. In the not too distant future one of those noughts will come off...a bit like a wheel coming off a wagon. Maybe in 2027? ie. 20 years after the first iPhone was introduced in 2007. I'm already bored with smartphones. Up until 2013 it was interesting seeing the technology grow so quickly each year, but now my 2013 flagship suits me fine. It's great though that so many consumers are willing to splash out on a new phone each year as it keeps the technological development going...which is always a good thing.

And finally who cares?

Misinformation? Certainly not from me...

Anonymous, 31 Oct 2019Like it or not, Iphone 11 series turns out one of the best ... moreiPhone 11 is an overpriced piece of junk. All competitors offer better specs and batteries for much less money. The world consumers are voting Apple out. iPhone will become a niche in 5 years. Just wait.

Galaxy Note 10 Pro, 31 Oct 2019Conversely consumers are here to make corporations extremel... moreI'm having trouble understanding you.
A consumer has to choose between say a Samsung Note10 and iPhone 11 Max. Why would they need to see the latest quarterly results from both companies, before making purchase? That doesn't make sense to me. It makes sense for an investor to look at them. Even when I'm going to make a purchase, I judge the device based on its properties and not how much money the company has, since that's worthless information for me.

And consumers are not here to make companies rich. They are just people living the way they want to live (or get to live). It is for-profit companies that are invented to make profit, not the other way around. There's also non-profit companies, or entities that are services or government bodies, basically different types of organisations. But consumers are consumers.

I don't think Apple consumers in-general feel proud about Apple's revenue. They don't care. And neither do consumers of other brands. That's only for fanboys online, or investors. Apple consumers aren't dumb, they see value in an iPhone and pay the price. There's certainly many things you get from an iPhone you don't get from another phone, and vice versa. Remember value is subjective. In downtown New York, a bag of gold is worth much more than a bottle of water... stranded in the desert, the water bottle is worth much more than the bag of gold.

I was pointing out that the title of this article is misleading; Apple doesn't care to compete against Samsung or Huawei from a sales quantity point. They're competing against them from a sale quality point, where each sale has a greater profit margin, leads to further revenue, and has a much higher portion of return-sales of the consumer. That's the game Apple's playing, and they're winning based on the reports. I can admit that their marketing doesn't affect me, and am not impressed by their device enough to switch, but I can admit that they're pretty good when it comes to the business side.

Striker, 31 Oct 2019Well, Toyota and VW also sell a lot...but I'm buying a Benz... morei like your idea... best selling phones might mean it is liked by many people... but if you already found a brand that fits you even when it is not best selling then it is good for you... no need to follow "most people"...

Google it and you will see that apple dosent care about how many phones is selling, but rather how much profit makes from a device.
