Windows Phone 7 Series does look awesome. Microsoft is back in the mobile game with this one now. -_- Android vs Blackberry OS vs iPhone OS vs Maemo vs Meego vs Windows Phone 7 Series OS.I think the platform will grow, in terms of the applications offered, to the point where it is competitive with iOS and Android. Good luck to Microsoft, I hope they can pull it off. visit my mobiles blog. http://ridakami.blogspot.com/

what if you're walking and using the phone at the same time? how sensitive must the shaking be to know the user actually wants to execute a command? Or if the camera can tell if the phone is being rotated or just shaking from the user walking/running? or even turning around.

Actually, the human eye can perceive 2.7 million colours.
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Human_eye
Even if wikipedia is wrong, it's obviously MUCH more than 65k. If you switch the colour bit on your monitor you will immediately notice a difference in gradients.

READ & WEEP:
"Unfortunately, Microsoft has confirmed that current Windows Mobile devices won’t be blessed with the Windows Mobile 6.5 update. It seems Microsoft is looking to market their new touch-optimized Windows Mobile on new hardware, giving loyal Windows Mobile fans a swift kick in the pants at the same time."

You guys have to stop comparing WM6 and IPhone, it's like comparing Windows 3.1 to MacOSx.
WM6.1 was developped with the idea that it would be used with a stylus and for that they did an ok job. The platform itself is very flexible so that companies can apply different mods on it, which IMO is an amazing thing.
The iphone os has the eyecandy and stability but it really just ends there. Like any other OS, it will freeze and have its share of problems. It was designed from scratch with the idea of stylus-free use like WM7 is right now.
And for those that say that Microsoft was never innovative, you guys are dead wrong. DOS, Windows Mobile, MSN messenger, Xbox360, taskbar in windows, Internet Explorer Compability are among many things that Apple did not have or does not have anything comparable today. Do not mention the chat program included within MacOS, nobody uses it. Everybody downloads MSN messenger on their Mac.
Both are innovative, they each copy each other we see the influence of Windows within MacOSx as we see the MacOSx influence within Windows.
And whover says iphone hardware is top-notch, it is in the video department but it ends there. The body is fragile, the camera is bleh and lack of hardware buttons will push away many people.
Apple also screwed up some of their products. AppleTV is the perfect example as it does not support HDMI when advertised as a HD entertainment system.

@ Harlekkin
"hardware wise the iPhone is top-notch"
WHAT THE HELL R U TALKING ABOUT!!!!
The IPhone has a 2 megapixel camera, and other phone manufacturers are starting to hand out EIGHT megapixel camera phones
The IPhone has no flash, so autofocus, no video recorder, no settings at all!!
The IPhone hasn't got expandable memory
The IPhone has bluetooth, but headset compatible ONLY
and while im here, i can talk about the OSX
It has no Copy & Paste Functionality
And the all-loved Safari browser (as far as i know) doesn't support flash or java.
I can understand why people love the UI, and i cannot deny that it is good, but i can't understand APPLE, why are they putting at least a 100% prenium (when compared to phones of the same specifications) on their products, when the only benefit is the UI/screen, and can anyone tell me, what is wrong with Symbian?

Funny thing is that even I had thought of the “Camera based Gesture Detection” about 3 months back. I was so excited about the whole thing that I submitted the idea at http://moblin.org/contest_india.php
I thought I had hit a new technology. Looks like M$ had thought of the same long time back :(

i dont know why so many people are saying that microsoft sucks and apple is good. they both are good, maybe not for u but for someone. like for example when it comes to gaming windows blows away apple. im not saying apple is bad it pretty cool. but apple is kinda expensive. forget about the OS, look at the hardware they use, they sell their laptops starting at $1099, and in that price they only offer 1 gb of ram and 80 gb of hard and shared graphics card (that uses ram). if u actually look around u can find laptops that offer more, for example there was a sony viao on sale not to long ago for the same price which offered 3 gb of ram and 160 gb of hard drive and at 256 discrete graphics card(which can be increased by sharing ram), thats 3x the ram, 2x the hard drive space, and a way better graphic processor.
Also another thing why a lot of people take on windows is because many companies work with windows and produce software for windows. theres more software for windows as well and they are cheaper then apple software most of the time. Also another key thing is that windows offers remote desktop for free (this lets u access your computer from anywhere with internet access) and where as apple offers it for $300.
I know that windows releases their OS's with a lot of errors, but through experience theres not many errors for basic computing. the only people that would face these problems are large businesses or people in IT. but other then that an average person shouldn't have any problems. and they always come out with updates and service packs to fix these problems.
Again im not saying apple is bad, its pretty cool. but when it comes down to the money, i would pick windows and i bet many others would too.
but for now comparing iphone with windows mobile, iphone is more of a entertainment phone rather than a business phone. apple has yet to challenge windows in mobile OS. and looking at these pictures of WM 7 this will be a powerful OS for phones which offers both entertainment and great business phone.
