Gobinath, 16 Nov 2019Lol. China have more population than total EuropeYep, and the CN $200 - $400 market is much larger than EU as well.
But the people who will buy this range phone, most of them neither live in the cities which have 5G, nor would pay for 5G charge.
Only few cities in China gets/ will get 5G in 2020. The salary levels in those cities are much higher than others'.

geek-a-contra, 16 Nov 2019 - Competitive products, Excellence in design...
- Value ... moreTo take a product, and bring it to the market at a higher production rate does require innovation. It's foolish to think otherwise. And to do that by reducing prices also takes innovation. Pushing the envelope when it comes to hardware or software design, or better practices is innovation in itself. Wether you like it or not, these are innovations, just not in the classic sense you're thinking. You're focusing/thinking about advanced CPU, Screens, Cameras etc etc.
To put things into perspective, imagine if we only had Apple, Nokia, Google, Samsung, Sony. No other OEMs out there. Do you really think the market would be as: affordable, as high quality, as consumer friendly, etc etc? No of course not! It takes competition and lower-tier innovators to push the envelope, and advance the entire field.

So yes even LTE - A is not globally implemented till today. 5G might be worse, think about 2021 at least.

Morrison, 15 Nov 2019You do realize that 5G for mobile handset industry and it's... morei do not have 5G device as of yet, but I had the chance to compare a 5G handset with my LTE-A phone at an even held by my mobile provider and found the difference in speed quite significant- online videos played instantly the moment i tap it, while my LTE-A device had to pause a few seconds. your example depicts the devices in moving cars, which yes, does affect the speed of 5G; but if you are barely moving the speed difference would be quite significant.

He said that all phones with a cost above 250 will have 5G. At no time did he say that there will be none below that price. Xiaomi adjusts prices a lot and especially through Redmi or another brand like Pocophone. So, at some point, they will launch some affordable phone with 5G. When is the question, it will depend on the market, the cost, etc. Maybe in 2021 while others will do in 2023, 2024... Anyways those phones of 250 euros in 8 months will be affordable.
It's too soon for ask about 100 euros 5G phones. But people always want more even when buying cheap ones. And that is Xiaomi's specialization too. Imagine ask that to HTC, HMD Nokia or Lenovorola...

This sounds like boasting. I don't think Xiaomi is capable of pulling this off. If they had said "400 euros" I would give them benefit of doubt but this is too cheap. Maybe they plan on doing that inside China only using the mid ranger Helio 5G chip., but anywhere outside of China these phones will be %50 more expensive.
