MediaTek’s new Dimensity 1000 chipset kills competitors at AnTuTu

26 November 2019
It tops the Snapdragon 855+ and even Apple's A13 Bionic with its overall score.

A few sheep destroyed their phones.

On a more serious note, it's good to have competition in the SoC and processor department. Snapdragon was abusing market domination (much like Intel wad before AMD with Ryzen gatecrashed the party). Its processor development was getting slow. It's also good that everyone is moving to the 7nn size too. Hopefully better implementation of hardware for photo and video, apart from gaming capabilities, and things should be great in 2020. Also, SoC prices should also get lower (by how much, though, is anyone's guess). I am guessing that the entry of the Samsung 48MP, 64MP and 108MP Image Sensors has reduced inputs costs for the camera modules.

It's a great win win situation. If these scores are anywhere near genuinely, Samsung, Snapdragon amd others will start pushing for even further development, and smartphones can finally start beating midrange laptops for a lot of tasks, and maybe smartphone photography finally starts competing with the best point and shoot around.

so, based on the upcoming 865, no surprise then on stats. as it has been written many times how potent the 865 will be. this apparently is the first signs of the performance.

Nolan, 26 Nov 20191. Fake Score (Real score should be around ~200,000) 2. No... moreDid you look at the CPU cores (A77) and GPU (Mali G77) used in Dimensity 1000?
They are the latest tech. They score higher than SD855+. If the implementation doesn't suck and if it is not a total battery hog, this is finally some competition at high end. Yes, probably only Chinese will use it in their phones. That's ok.

CPU sub-score is 24% higher than SD855+ on ROGII and GPU score is 12% higher than SD855+ GPU. This is very promising. Finally some competition at high-end.

Nobody seems to understand the fact that AnTuTu on Android and iOS is different, they like to cling on to scores because they are desperate to see the incredibly powerful Apple Bionic chips in a bad light, but unfortunately Geekbench ruins that time and time again for them. :)
