When I heard the news the ICS update was coming in March I just knew it was going to be postponed by at least a month. New I will even have to wait 2 months :P

But actually I don't care, at least Sony promises the update to ICS for lots of low end handsets.

Total BS! Why the hell wait so much? SE does not have enough money for developing? Why promise dates when surely you cannot deliver them? Samsung S2 got it's update ages ago, SE has to accept the fact they lost.
I own an Arc S, but I hate Sony Ericsson's useless promises. I am really mad to hear such news :(!

What is really clogging the RAM on my new RAY:
Play on device 5mb setup guide 2.65mb Fun&downloads 2.97mb Facebook games and friends 2.65
Only here with these apps that auto-run, I could save 13.17mb. And there are others that auto-run that are pointless too.
What is really clogging the ROM on my new RAY:
                      Abobe reader 7.20mb, all Facebook apps 13mb, Foursquare 6.89mb, Fun&downloads 22.21mb, OfficeSuite 4.85mb, Playnow 1mb
Only here I could save 55.15mb !!!!!! Why are you forcing us these apps? at least allow them to move to sd.
My phone is a month old and got already the message “insufficient storage”. Had to delete apps and emails. Now have 19.03mb of rom available, but still the message “low on space” always on, and worse I can’t download emails, can’t even import contacts – as it says there is no memory available, so I have no contacts at all on my phone, and can’t update any apps because it tells me insufficient storage despite the 19.03mb available.
Why do you sell phones that can’t even update the system apps like maps, adobe, youtube etc because you didn’t care to put enough rom????
You mislead people saying the ray had 1gb rom when actually 300mb are available to user (and I’m sure I didn’t even use 300mb ) and you mislead people saying it has 512mb ram when only 320 is available to user, and clogged with auto-runs that I didn’t start.
AND WHY, SINCE ICS IS OUT FOR A LONG TIME, SOME OF YOUR NEW PHONES THIS YEAR STILL HAVE 512mb RAM WHEN YOU KNOW IT”S NOT ENOUGH ???
Plus the camera processing is appalling. My old Nokia and Samsung both with 5mgs cameras take sharper pictures with better processing. This can be easily sorted with an update. Check what iphone does with a simillar 8mpgs camera module.
All this will make me either root the phone to take all the bloatware and free rom and ram, or most likely sell the phone on ebay. Once thing is for sure, I won’t buy another Sony as I don’t feel you care for your users. Nokia provides constant updates years down the line; apple the same. My camera from Sony, Nex5 only received one update and there’s so much room for improvement, like colour profiles similar to the newer nex5n and auto-focus performance, etc… but no … nothing…..
I think I’m done with Sony.
Pitty cause the Ray is a very good looking phone and practical for it’s size and an amazing screen…. Better get the Nexus and sacrifice size, but at least gets support.

And SONY take the bloatware off my Ray as it's occupying all my tiny ROM and I can install anything else!!!!!!! Also a lot of bloatware autoruns clogging ram. And get to work on that camera processing which is awful and unsharp.

Why the f**k are you mentioning the SGS everywhere...Just shut your big mouth and stop complaining. It's a 2 yrs old model, not 18 month,so it will NOT get a 4.0.x upgrade. It will have the 2.3 firmware with some implementations of the 4.0 like the face unlock and that's all about it.So shut up and get a Sony cell phone if you want to be cool/modern/hipster.End of discussion

You're going from an OEM that updates its entire line of products to an OEM that only is going to update ONE product of its lineup. That's really clever.

As you will see in the link from above, it`s not recommended to upgrade... Well, I have a Xperia arc, an ex-"flagship"... And it`s got only 512 MB RAM... So, I guess, it`s my fault that I bought this phone, ex-"flagship", with its tiny RAM... I`m sooo disappointed, for the very first time, in 5 years of using Sony (Ericsson) phones...

Wow, I thought Sony would get better at pushing updates without the Ericsson part, but I guess I was confused... Google should just prohibit all lame-@ss overlays and maybe then we would get all the updates on time!

Why dont just let us unlock the bootloader in the ones who has locked by carrier, thus the people who want ics just can install a custom rom, and the ones who just dont care they can still with gingerbread
