120hz display (though it is lcd not AMOLED)

But at 230$, this is a steal.

Anonymous, 10 Dec 2019Depends on resolution. Oled + HD has pixelation. Even che... moreYeah I don't buy it for a second and your anti-OLED bias is laughable. Check displaymate on pixel density, sharpness, and pixelation because they analyses on all types, including OLEDs. I can promise you with 100% verifiable accuracy that any 1080p oled from the past 5-6 years is as sharp as any 1080p LCD. subpixel layout does not negate overall pixel density, which is way more accurate than counting blue subpixels.

IpsDisplay, 10 Dec 2019Im not out of mind I have objective science and facts Us... moreNo pixelation. Please look at any LCD screens right to any OLEDS from the past 3-4 years and you will see that when you look at both screens, there is ZERO, repeat with me so you can understand properly, ZERO pixelation compared to the LCD. Under a microscope, I am sure you will see the difference in the matrix layout, but under normal viewing conditions and even in intense viewing angles/lighting/inspection you will not see anything. Only under microscope. I am not using feelings just facts and logic, which you seem to be missing right now. Use intelligence based on balanced viewpoint, not some weird anti-OLED bias like some internet fanboy.

Aside from 5G there is nothing special about it
                    Design is downgrade
                    Lossing Telephoto is downgrade
Lossing pop up is a downgrade
Only main camera is an upgrade and 120hz display

Whats the point of having a 120hz display but with a midrange processor? You can just maybe scroll social apps faster...but nothinguch change in games, you're still stuck at 60fps.

Also to add to my previous comment (about 120Hz being useless) is that what I prefer for K30 is to keep K20 form factor, upgrade the main sensor to 64MP, change the SoC to 765, 8/256 option (since the K20 only goes up to 6/128) and that's it.
I would be perfectly fine with 730G SoC , but maybe it will not be enticing enough for people to buy it, especially if you're coming from K20.
                        I would call this phone... K20 5G

Damn, these some good phones for a really good price.

120Hz is stupid unless the phone is being marketed as gaming phone and if it is, then it is not for me. They make stupid design and feature choices for this phone.
120Hz is a good thing, but is it something that you need? This only really benefited those competitive twitch gamer (like it might give you an edge in PUBG or something) but for anyone else, 60Hz is enough. Yes, 60Hz is less smoother than 120Hz, but it is enough that you shouldn't be bothered by it. Also to anyone saying they will use something like motion smoothing/interpolation/etc, LOL. When you play a game, you don't want that since it will only add more lag. That is why some TV has game mode, to turn the TV post processing off to reduce lag.
The other thing 120Hz is useful is for VR since for some, 60Hz might be too low.
Their camera setup choice is simply being picked just for the camera count. If you can do depth with the tele cam, you can do depth with the wide cam, especially considering the fact that K30 only has 2MP depth cam so even if you crop the wide cam, it should still has enough detail to help with the depth. Not only did they add depth cam for the main cam, they also add depth cam for the front cam! Do Xiaomi get these 2MP depth cam for free or something? As for the removing tele for macro, I don't mind it at all. Tele is stupid if you have your main shooter at 64MP and tele at 8MP. I've tested it with Mi9T and most of the time, you can get the same detail from 48MP (at 48MP mode) being cropped vs using the tele cam and the normal cam has an advantage that it has more brighter lens thus less prone to shaking since it doesn't need to slow down the shutter as much as the tele cam to have the same brightness. Wide cam is useful since you might be in a situation where backing off is impossible but you want to capture the moment in a single take. 5MP macro camera is probably useful since I don't think they can capture the same detail using the normal cam, but the 2MP macro on the cheaper variant? why? Ultimately, I prefer them to remove all the depth cam and add OIS in the 64MP cam because OIS is more useful than these depth cam gimmick. If it isn't enough, then remove the macro cam. This camera count race is stupid.
The other minor thing is of course the pop up camera, but this is simply my personal taste since I don't really do selfie, thus I prefer pop up camera. But for people that loves selfie, then yes, the K30 setup might be more ideal for the long run since you have less part to worry about.

Also looking at the pricing, well, K30 5G hopefully come with a better NAND flash because the pricing difference with each storage increase between K30 vs K30 5G is getting bigger and bigger. The only justification for it is if 5G variant have better NAND, otherwise, well, it is better for me to not write the word that I have in my mind.

I can't buy this downgraded rubbish. All they had to do was upgrade the camera on the K20 and add a 90hz or 120hz OLED display like the one on the Oneplus 7t or Rog 2 phone and they would have had a winner.

So they could have given us OLED if they wanted to. I guess Xiaomi are no longer happy with 5% profits and want more. They have become greedy so i will go elsewhere.

I wonder if SD765G's Adreno GPU is truly capable of handling 120Hz without showing any signs of hiccup. Still, very impressive specs for the price.

6.67 LCD display is good (nice for Reading)

                                    165.3 x 76.6 x 8.8 mm (talll).
158 x 80...not too tall or narrow, but Balanced

I dont understand these people crying over AMOLED and LCD Display its not like you'll notice it out of the box I've transitioned from AMOLED to LCD (Samsung A9 to Poco F1) and didn't even notice the difference the only problem I see with K30 is the punch hole, which is accounted by the bigger screen size, the storage, which is still UFS 2.1, and lastly (but only because I'm picky) the Dimensity 5G seems to be a budget chipset should've used it for K30 then use SD 865 for K30 Pro

Rokka, 11 Dec 2019Yea I agree lol this type of mindset that hinders growth...... moreTechnology and hardware to run 200+ fps have existed over a decade on PC world. Game developers just cap the FPS on 60 on 90% of the games released. Some games dont even have fps settings in games and some have the option only to switch from 30 to 60 and thats it. Game developers just dont want to implement that 120+ fps in games so the 120hz would work or that 144hz and even 200hz

It's not a mindset that is stupid. It's the game developers who are too greedy for money and too lazy to optimize games to run on higher frame per second then 60
