it is a shame that a high end phone has screen ghosting that's a shame
for the rest phone is ok to me I have sd 820 more than enough for daily task
I don't play on it... I have consoles for that

It is a good time to go for a k20/pro.

Couldn't they go for a middle ground like 90Hz/OLED instead of 120/LCD? it's not like 90Hz is outdated yet or doesn't offer enough display fluidity - without eating all too much of a battery as 120hz LCD probably would.

Best I should wait for the full review, I guess.

I find it very weird how Redmi completely departed from the successful design and philosophy of the K20 series. This is not a successor, at least in this regard, at all. Looks like K30 was developed by a completely different team. Also, the phone is really huge.

Looks like a downgrade from K20 to me. Samsung made Amoled display and in display fingerprint scanner is gone. The frame is plastic instead of aluminium.

Looks good. 6/128 K30 5G could be my next phone and I don't even care about no 5G provider in my country. It's not worthed anymore paying lots of money for 4G phone right now when you could get such a cheap 5G phone like this.
But no amoled screen is a shame. Gonna wait for K30 Pro or Mi 10 next year.

This K line is confusing. I thought it's the "flagship killer" line but it's slowly becoming an upper midrange one. Idk about the pro version, but LCD over the amoled of the k20 vanilla is meh. At least it's 120hz tho. I just hope it's a good panel.

                  No k30 pro?

Are these android makers playing darts and then proceed to mash in specs hit on the target boards for their monthly releases?

Love the Community, 10 Dec 2019120hz on an AMOLED display is not easy. Redmi made the good... moreNot easy? A company just needs to be willing to pay for it.

Sony, Asus and Sharp have it.
Not even counting the 240Hz of Aquos Zero II .....

                        Pros:
                        27 / 30W fast charging
                        Cheapest phone with 120Hz display
120Hz gives a much smoother experience compared to 60Hz
Cheapest 5G phone (for the 5G variant)
                        Presence of microSD card slot

                        Cons:
LCD instead of OLED, no infinite contrast ratio and comsumes more battery
High frame rate consumes more battery (4500mAh might be able to compensate it)
Tall body similar to A70/A80 requires more hand gymnastics.
                        Absence of telephoto lens
                        Ultrawide lens downgraded to 8MP
Presence of punch hole, no more full screen view

Redmi K30 looks good on paper but I'll prefer Redmi K20. 5G and 120Hz seems to be the biggest selling points for this phone.

Well 20mp self would be more than enough why is a stupid 2mp depth map needed..... Waste of hole punch......

I'll always choose IPS over amoled, but this IPS that Xiaomi is using is very bad, LG G6 and Huawei mate 9 had better IPS than this k30. Sad

Of course they would not choose the best suppliers.

120hz on an AMOLED display is not easy. Redmi made the good choice and use IPS-LCD which it can do 120hz like many Gaming Monitors out there that are IPS and 144hz.

Too bad they can't use Sharp's IGZO-LCD panel and price it like that considering that the I in IGZO is some hard to find element and it's expensive unlike Gallium and Zinc.

Why do Xiaomi make the phones larger and larger?? this would have been perfect at 150mm length like an iPhone 11 or even k20 size. 165mm length?? wtf lol. how the hell can you put that in your pocket? I wish they did smaller form factors.

One can only hope it is not a successor of K20 PRO/SD855 and that K30 PRO follows.
K30/SD730 can only be a successor of K20. So, we are expecting true successor of K20 PRO - K30 PRO with at least SD855+ (if not SD865).
