Let me get this right. Sharp are releasing a phone with Gingerbread 4-5 months after Ice Cream Sandwich is released and they actually expect me to be intersted!? Had they put the time and effort in to ICS to customise it, instead of messing around with GB after all ths time, then I might be less inclined to thiml of them as a joke quite frankly!

What a horrid UI (I think Evangelion is overrated drivel, btw).
Japan has fallen really behind since the advent of smartphone operating systems. Their once powerful tech companies have all lost out to Samsung, LG and Asus in recent years.
Main problem is their inability to "grasp" the current model of smartphone OS. Whether it's due to the their language being more suitable to the old text-heavy feature phone model or just overall incompetence among developers, I cannot say.
Heck, most app devs in Japan chose to develop for the iPhone. Sure must hurt their Android based local handset makers.
