Once you go... moreOnce you see a faster panel, even if it's just 90 Hz or 120 Hz, you're going to want that smoothness that 60 Hz could never ever offer. At least that's what happened to me, one glance at a 144 Hz monitor and soon I bought one. Same thing with phones, faster panels are just so delicious.

Xperia 10 plus is a very interesting phone. Over the holiday sales you could of got one for $200. At that price point this would be a very nice play phone.

No matter how good Sony makes their phones, they always find a way to overprice them.

It's easy to handle phone with one hand, especially with Android 10 onboard.

People who love Xiaomi and Realme always talk about specifications, which in reality doesn't mean much as they think. Most of us replace our smartphones every 1.5 to 3 years, and the performance is rarely a problem, even if you're not getting the best for the price. I'm still using a smartphone with a Snapdragon 410 with 1.5GB RAM, and I've used much better phones, and the phone is still fine performance-wise. People need to calm the f--- down about specs and all that.

I think that it was forgotten to mention Sony as Loser in dropping the compact series. No, Sony Xperia 5 is not compact at all! almost 16cm tall? There is no way I would consider it at all! As of now, the only options are Samsung S10E and Pixel 4. Those feel small. But I will keep an eye on the next small devices. As of now, I'm really concerned as my next phone won't be Sony from what I can see. Shame, they have great phones and simple OS(minimum bloatware, even I was upset about Amazon apps got installed in one of the updates).

The thing I don't think most people realize is Sony makes the Playstation and it's "solid" os. Please make the next phone available as I currently have a S9 and the software is horrid compared to Sony.

They need state of the art phones to keep their profitable products state of the art.

Here in Sweden I see some ads/commercials for Sony Xperia 5, and the phone carriers have some deals with it.
Not much pushing for Xperia 1. So I suppose Xperia 5 is a minor hit for Sony in the focus markets. (Europe, Japan)
I think the smaller form factor attract a few after all.

It endured just as long as a Samsung S10 which it had a 2.5K screen and can change resolution. 4K Resolution on a phone mattered just a bit more than 90/120hz. There are people who prefer 4K/60fps than 1080p/144hz.

I hate how most consumers ignore brands like Sony and only think Samsung and Apple are important in the smartphone. I really like Sony for their boxy designs and beautiful UI themes. That's not all though.
