Well we have Samsung S2 and Xiaomi S2 so S20 sounds better but i would prefer S11 instead of S20. Because then we will have Samsung Note 20 too instead of Note 11.
Also the A series should have different naming then.

S20 looks way too similar to 520, and that was a budget Lumia device from 2013.

Last time they skipped numbers, note 7 was cancelled..

No no no no! Come on Samsung, don't ruin your perfect naming scheme by doing a Huawei!

                Significant upgrade over the S10?
Yeah they are finally upgrading the camera. Oh and supposedly higher refresh screen. Oh and slimmer bezels. And don't forget next year's soc will be stronger.....
                What a significant upgrade

Think about how new cars are named. It's always with the current year to know which is which even if this year's model isn't exactly an upgrade from last year.

                      iPhone 20
                      iPhone 21
                      iPhone 22

^ Let this all happen. I also like the number 20 more than 11. My favorite number is actually 22. So hopefully in 3 years, we get an iPhone 22 that I might actually consider. And of course, I love #23. The number Michael Jordan and Lou Williams. I don't think about that #23 on the LA Fakers.

The Google Pixel line is fine because they didn't mess up using an S name. Same with Sony PlayStation. Then Apple did something in 2017 where they had an iPhone 8 and X but skipped on the 9. Similar to what Microsoft did with Windows. Speaking of Microsoft, they should do the same like back in the day when they had Windows 95 and 98.

Just match the number with the year. So much easier.

Samsung renaming it from S11 to S20 is a good thing. Higher the number, the better buyers might perceive it. I think Apple should do the same. Have the name be parallel with the year. So let it be called iPhone 20 for 2020. And get rid of the S moniker. Just have it match the year. Less confusion. The naming scheme from Apple's iPhones are a mess.

This phone is a LOL. When the folding mechanism in the phone adds nothing to the experience but folding.

In the continuing saga of pretty looks over practicality, the S11 or whatever will have nearly bezel less display and lower repairability.

But if course, pushing environmental activism greta-style online needs to be done on a good looking phone over an ugly one, right?

I don't think I can afford a foldable phone for at least 5 years because the price is excessively high right now. Maybe in future, foldable phones will be the norm but right now it's only for a select group of people. Also, the photo of the Fold 2 is kinda boring from my point of view. I've used a couple of Samsung phones from my friends and family members but I've never owned one so can't give an opinion about it. I think the midrange series from Samsung is not a bad deal.
