Folding phones are only big innovation in last years, but it's still in very beginning. The future of it is huge though. Smartphone, tablet and laptop, 3 in 1.

        www.sharpusa.com/forhome/mobile/models/aquoscrystal-306sh.aspx = Sharp USA.

It was released for less than $150. Device was reviewed by Androidpit, Techradar, Cnet, PhoneArena, Android Authority, Engadget, Digital Trends and Android Central ...

Ignoring Sharp had 3 devices with this design before xiaomi is a matter of choice.

If they did not mention Axon 7 that had much better DAC and stereo speakers, v20 does not deserve.

Mi Mix should not be here.
Design used 2 years before by Sharp.

LG G5 and V20 deserve a mention. I still think 2016 was the best year in mobile before they went astray and relied on gimmicks. HTC 10 and Apple iPhone 7 / 7 Plus still gave us a metal build. We did start losing the headphone jack but it wasn't as common like the last three years of the 2010s.

              Apple iPhone SE
              Apple iPhone 7 / 7 Plus
              Google Pixel / Pixel XL
              HTC 10
              Huawei P9 / P9 Plus
              LG G5
              LG V20
              Samsung Galaxy S7 / 7 edge
              Samsung Galaxy Note7 (RIP)
              Sony Xperia XZ
              Xiaomi Mi 5
              ZTE Axon 7

With the exception of playing some graphically-advanced gaming, Snapdragon 820/821 can hold up well today like A9 and A10 Bionic chip can. We're talking about phones released from 4+ years ago and they all can hold up well.

I would love to get another phone that cost only $230 like that Sharp AQUOS V which has the Snapdragon 835 from 2017. That's a chip I can use for a solid 5 years if I wanted to. My PS Vita slim was released in 2013 and it held up better than most phones released that same year. That's with only 512 MB RAM but the UI is generally smooth.

2016 onwards - lack of innovation.

Pixel - Computational Photography is ok.
Mi Mix - Nothing. The Sharp Aquos Crystal did this. Also, the Xperia Z Ultra has a larger screen in surface area.
X - Notches made all phones look the same, gestures are ok-ish.
P20 Pro - Decent innovation but it had to be the camera once again.
NEX S - Wasn't needed. Not innovation, motorized tech was already a thing.
Find X - 50W VOOC is nice, but the better the battery life and the quicker the charging, the higher the level of smartphone addiction.
nubia X + NEX DD - As mentioned, the YotaPhone did it before.
Galaxy Fold - Folding was previously done and there's hardly any benefit of a folding screen. The tablet-sized display will be the only usable display.
                S10 5G - OK at best.
P30 Pro + Reno 10x zoom - Camera? Again? C'mon some people use their camera to take a quick shot of something, not a f------ masterpiece.

In my opinion I don’t think the oppo find x deserves a place on this list :(. What will you do with a pretty phone when it doesn’t work half the time and will break if you happen to accidentally sit on it.

But where's LG G5? It was really the phone to start the trend of having multiple cameras on the back (save for 3D ones and depth sensors).

I feel like S8 and S8+ should have been in this list. This phone literally kicked the longer displays trend and more screen to body ratio.
