They are doing this to strengthen the Harmony OS, because we all know nobody will shift to a new OS without the apps, and thats what killed Windows mobile.
I for one, would love to see them succeed. I owned quite a few Huawei (and Honor) devices, and am in love with my Mate20x 5G and View 20. If they can continue to create great devices, people will continue to support them.
Android ecosystem (and google services) has been a great and powerful tool - but the fact that they abandoned Huawei at the time of their need makes me want to root for an underdog even more. No one should have a monopoly on technology and basic services, Im glad Huawei is standing up to bullies.

Great job Huawei!
Yet another step closer to a good alternative to bloated Google spyware, this is really much appreciated.
Google (and American companies in general) really can't be trusted with your personal data, they're just spying you out as much as possible, just to create profiles of your personal data and sell them to whoever wants them (advertisers, NSA etc).
Especially the NSA (National Spy Agency) has shown time and time again, that they can't be trusted at all. Just see Edward Snowden etc., that was just the tip of the iceberg.
The Chinese don't collect your private data to create profiles from them and sell them, like Google does, so they're far more trustworthy than Google or other American companies.

I think it's good to have an alternative to Google Services = more competition. I own a Xiaomi devoce and would like to see Xiaomi joining Huawei and Oppo to develop an alternative.

It's not Huawei vs US ... it's China vs US. Huawei is just a casualty.
Samsung, Huawei et tal need to wake up & have their own ecosystem ready for when the US politicians decide to put them out of business.
Huawei have the finance to overcome this Google services ban.

I would be surprised if this post makes it past the moderators... However... It is not necessarily the companies always at fault with collecting data. Although they are required to by certain laws... And store data for a period of time.
Another thing that big tech companies may or may not be aware of... Is that National Intelligence of most countries around the world have access to anyone's information at anytime.
So it is the national intelligence services that are the real data collectors. I personally know this to a point where I cannot actually say here.
