LG G9 renders show a quad camera on the back and a G8X-like design

03 January 2020
Yes, including the teardrop notch. Interestingly, it seems that the display is flat, despite current design trends.

LG needs to get with the times and make a popup camera phone. The notch and these holes are hideous. To dedicate a part of the screen to something that rarely gets used is so stupid.

Good phones, but LG tends to price their hign end phones too high in the market. If they price it lower they should sell more I think. That way it would be a bang for your bucks. And they very much need to try to market the phone in some wat or another. Remember the time of the LG chocolate sliders, ads on tv and in newspapers, billboards, radio, just everywhere.

Hopefully G8x prices will come down with this release in EU. Though LG launches are ususally late.
This is still a much better option that lot of flagships with features people dont need.

Pricing and battery life will be the main deciding factor.

LG used to be my admired phone industry until they started copying others phone designs and specs. With this design and specs. nothing here to excite me lest i will just be wasting my money for this unreflected design and specs.

Personally, i don't want companies to seal the batteries like that. It is a anti-consumer move. But i wouldn't boycott a phone just for that reason though.

Why does LG always find a way to copy Samsung phones, not to mention their UI has been a shitty copy and paste for years.

Last times I stopped reading news about news devices because even before reading I realize that it will be a huge oversized crap. Going to keep relatively compact P30 for years as there's no compact alternative on nowadays market.

But that Jerry guy is not the best example to bring up imo. Since for the grief he gave about the G8 having a permanent battery and him talking about not recommending phones with permanent batteries anymore, that dude switched to a note 10, a phone with a permanently glued in battery. He's a hypocrite.

This would be one of the least flawed flagships to come out in 2020. It has a flat display (which a lot of people still prefer over curved). It has a headphone jack (again, a lot of people want this too). A waterdrop notch (better than a full notch). A simplistic design (Ideal for professional environment).

Sounds good so far. Perhaps LG will get back on track.

However the G8 has already received the Android 10 update via some US carriers and by LG standards that's very fast. Last year the LG V40 launched with Oreo and it took them like a year to push the Pie update.

Another oversized brick. Anything over 160mm tall is basically a tablet.

                                      One word: COMPACT.
That is why I stopped buying flagship phones. Every company nowadays makes premium phones with screen sizes bigger than 6.5". Useless.
