That's nice news... waiting for it in Portugal... and by the way, why shouldnt I (ARC S user) receive the update before an Xperia S user?! To me ARC/ARC S are still the most beautiful piece of art in mobile world... not the best when you speak of hardware, but no other phone has anything to do with it's design... Xperia S doesn't even compare.
So, if Sony made such a nice job on this device, why wouldnt they try to keep me as a MUCH SATISFIED costumer and make me think of buying another sony when I need.... instead of pleasing you with your brand New Xperia S?
If you think before making nonsense questions, you'll see that they are doing the right thing.

This is the flagship model it costs more then other for a reason, its ment to be the best until the next flagship comes out that way the customers will keep updating, every company knows this and does it.....its just how things go, so for sony to pull a move like this its unheard of.
I had hoped that the new sony company would become one of the best, sadly on current form its really living off old reputation thats been eaten into by apple and samsung, not only on the mobile front. ow well live and learn, its an excellent phone only needed snapdragon s4 rather then old s3 and would have been hugely better, still its smooth for now, even if a little let down

It will do the rest, but your phone wont be rooted anymore after updating.

And unlike iPhone, android directly supports open market music and other stuffs. Which is very much practical qnd convenient.

You see, you just receive your phone for about one month and waited just around that period. But for us, 2011 Xperia line users, we've waited for... I don't know, 4/5 months? You just got your phone, enjoy with its GB-self for a bit longer :D

So i just checked out when xperia s owners might expect the upgrade
"Finally, with regards to our all new Sony Xperia S, which will be upgraded to Android 4.0 starting from the later part of the second quarter, we will get back with more detailed information on timing over the next weeks."
I dont know about you guys but this seems unfair as I was promised ICS very soon after release so I expected my phone to be upgraded first not the 2011 lineup. Sony are doing alot of weird things at the mo, some really good and some dont make sense, who updates the older line up befor the new 1????

So no info on the sony xperia s 2012 line up..... I hope they update my xperia s soon, as everything about it is good just need that extra hour or two of battery and it will be perfect, get about 10-12hrs now but 12-14 would last me a full day
