It`s a great feature! You should definetly keep doing this to all phones from now on.
I have some suggestions sugestions to make it even better:
1. When making the photos of the screens, place the phones exactly in the same position( you can do this by having 2 line marked on the desk in "L" form so the phones are all in the same place all the time when taking pictures of their screens) and keep the camera fixed in the same position all the time you make the photos. In the photos in this article the phones are clearly in diferent position from the others, and they are not corectly centered in the pictures.
2. Make a comparison tool like the one you have on the phone camera section. This, combined with what i wrote in the 1-st paragraph will make it very easy and professional way to compare different screens so you can see how the glare is different from 2 phones that you are thinking to buy.
3. Include all the test results in the review section of the phones, and also include the battery test in the review!! It is very irritating that when i go to the review of a phone, all the test all not in that same place.
I understand that the battery tests take longer than the review and they are made separate articles but after posting the results, include the test in the phone`s review. Also include a comparison tool to the battery test.
This is why i love GSMarena, you keep bringing new and useful thing to the reviews and the site all the time and you actually listen to our ( the readers) feedback.
Keep up the good work GSMArena !

Dear GSM ARENA, this is a very useful piece of test u have added, now i think this completes your review system. ofcourse u have always described the sunlight legibility but numbers speak for themselves. one thing you coul do is specify by giving just a bit detail for non geeks on how u fare this test and rankings. thank you for all your work. much appreciated!!

try to compare the nokia 701 the them then see the differences....(but install the display brightness and put the sensor off the put the display to the maximum)
as i have nokia c7 and i did like i said above and compare it the the s2 in the sunlight and i noticed that the c7 is better. adding that c7 is amoled while the 701 got the second generation of clear black.
just do what i did but with the 701 and than compare.
N.B: the nokia e6 also has a pretty display in the sunlight.
waiting for a reply from you GSMARENA

i'd like to see this test done regularly .. also if u categorize phones accordingly (like "A": category with the best sunlight legibility. "B":2nd best .. and so on) it would be understandable without numbers for the non-geeks .. also this would work nicely with the battery test.

Your test is flawed:
- Not enough light
- Not enough variance in angles for each device to give average experience
- Not enough background illumination to properly show the contrast
You also need to show the difference for each device with the auto-brightness and full brightness setting.
Also be careful of the camera used to take the pictures you are using to judge/show others.
(N.B. this rant does come from experience doing a similar activity and refining it)

even strongest studio lights cannot be compared to sunlight. There is too much difference.

Great new feature, please provide it in all future reviews.
Also was hoping for Galaxy Nexus i9250 ratios, but I can infer they're among the ones on other AMOLED devices from Samsung. Good.

To be honest I can't tell much of a difference except of some really poor models (Gigabyte, Iphones).

Great idea gsmarena. But i wud ask u to b a bit more detailed with the images (with closer shots). Another idea that i wud lyk to present to u (just a random one7) is-
why dont u chose the best of smartphones from each brand for each price tier(eg. 400-500 euros) n compare their features n specs in a tabular form. Dis cud help viewers chose exactly which phone they want. U cud carry out this comparison for phones released each quarter. For eg, lets make a coparison for Q2 2012, u cud take one x from htc, lumia 900 from nokia, galaxy s3 from samsung, quad d from huawei(if its released before july) for the 400-550euro category n compare them. Similarly u cud choose one v, galaxy m n so on for the mid ranger category n compare those. U cud even use this for tablet comparison. Just an idea that crossed my mind.
