Anonymous, 19 Jan 2020Heh, even your developed neighbor has limited 5G availabili... moreSure, the Chinks are developed and we're like trying to get 5G from Huawei (Smart so far started doing 5G and I haven't heard much about Globe) but we don't have enough towers let alone 4G to use speeds at their advertised/capable rates. Freaking subdivision owners for example refuse to have their lands spammed with more cellular towers. Lack of amount of towers is the best reason why our mobile internet sucks even to this day.

Your mobile carrier gives you 5 or 10GB monthly data cap.

With 4G you can use it all up in 30 minutes.

With 5G you can waste your monthly internet in

There will be 5 areas in 3 cities hosted by 1 carrier with 5G support this year in my country, other big carriers will follow with up till now no information somewhere in Q4 this year.

Also that carrier asks €6 extra for 5G option above your regular sub.

No thx, 5G is something I will care when I get a new phone, which is somwhere in Q4 2021, my 180mbps down and 15mbps up is plenty for now (on 4G)

PeterThePanda, 19 Jan 2020People already talking about how fast 5G will be when most ... moreAgree, my country started doing 5G but their 4G plan is expensive and with speed cap so why go 5G?

People already talking about how fast 5G will be when most 4G data is barely faster than Wi-Fi in many countries, like only 5 to 10 mbps at its best

            Not yet maybe in 2023

              Not yet.

We don't have 5G here in my country (Philippines) yet until a couple of years or so.

I'll buy a 5G phone in a year or two since it's going to be cheaper by then.

Never got to see full speeds of 3.5G(21Mbps) nor 4g LTE(1Gbps) in India due to highest population densities of the world but with barebones infrastructure. Won't invest in 5G until 2025 until rich showoffs have payed for reliable 5g deployment.

In my case, 5G is not going to be implemented in my country anytime soon. Even 4G coverage is still not that good here.

Just a thought, you need to know which countries have good 5G implementation, if so, feel free to pick up a 5G handset. Otherwise, give 5G another year or two. Switching handsets too often is a waste of money.

Maybe --- in the next 5 years. Probably. I'm still content with 4g right now, though.

To get 5g phone is very important. Then using 4g megabits will be much more cheaper and they are good enough for everything. Then YES , let's get 5g phones.

It has been well documented. NHS did a report on it. And found no negative impact. AT&T Did a report in 2018. Guess what no negative impact. And all the networks have a done it. So yes lots of conclusive evidence. You need to read and understand it. Not talk nonsence

If there is a proper 5G network around the country, then yes - I will buy one. But since that isn't to be seen here in Malaysia at the moment, that would be a 'No'.

I'm getting a Galaxy Z Flip. So, unfortunately not.

Most people care about the best camera experience right now.

Improve call connectivity and most networks need to be prepared for 5G, otherwise what's the use of getting a 5G phone? Also, the (harmful?) Effects of 5G on the environments, including on birds and wildlife also needs to be extensively researched and documented first, as well.

It does of course depend on prices and obviously who want to spent big money for 5G straight away because as we know it is not gonna be cheap on start. It is better to wait couple of years when 5G will become cheaper.

I understand that people don't care much about 5G but if you already spend $800+ on a new phone, choosing a 4G phone is honestly stupid.

I assume this and maybe even the next year most carriers plans will be with very low value/price ratio.
They will be either to expensive or won't offer enough MBs and they will be over in no time rendering the 5g phone useless.

Screw 5G, more radiation for the win.
I care about other specs instead.
