i'm done with this Windows Phone business. i'll throw out my HD7 enough is enough. no mo windows phone. it really doesn't matter how smooth is the OS is but what matters is what it can offer. too much of restrictions from Microsoft lately. it's like they r competing with Apple. and i really don't know why people are such fools to buy their products. no SD card excess, no plug & play, no theme's THIS IS SICK!

Thankyou Elop, I don't think anyone owning Windows Phone 7.5 wanted an update anyway. I didn't want it.
I'm sure, Like me, We would be happier buying new Hardware to support Nokia and help profits.
Thankyou again Elop. Another great choice for the users.

That would be the death blow to the Windows mobile market and to NokiA specifically!
Ppl getting trcked once to pay hefty ammounts, in order to savor the technology the future holds.
As the current gen of windows is too young to offer much.
But they have blindily trusted MS and Nokia, to deliver that promise in the near or far future.
Ppl payed fortunes for that belief alone and soon they will discover that they have been scammed and they will never get an update, that they have to re-invest the same or an even bigger amount of cash, to a new devic, that might or might not deliver the promise.
Who in their right mind will be fooled twice in a raw??
They all know that the OS is still struggling and their device will not support the next update.
Who will throw away another fortune for a new windows high end toy, under those circumstances?
Esp in a highy competitive market and esp with the record Nokia and MS had lately, this would be the last thing it should happen to them now...

A huge breath of relief went down . I was about to buy nokia Lumia !! Duh aH !! I am saved by android . The reason is as android is Open source . There are still chances we can port it to newer devices . But in case of WP . !!! Ah no chance !! its closed source . Let MS suck its thumb with its source codes and Let android rule with more number of devices selling with much large support for developers ( I am not anti microsoft. I am a MVC developer and very much was interested into MS until this news. Another company which follows the footsteps of fruit( Surely understuf which is it ) . ) Oh yes one more thing . Last year Galaxy S2 have beaten IPhone in popularity , speed , performance , features .... Literally everywhere . Now Its not too late microsoft you have only two chances either go for open source which would be hugely popular like google . Or else you update old lines of phones . The choice is urs to survice before android and apple !!!

Whether Apollo will come to the current crop of Mango-running devices or not is pointless. So,if Apollo shall support Micro-SD functionality, shall you personally create a slot on your current Lumia? What about multi-core processors or even HD resolution? What the likes of Lumia should be yearning for is minor improvements by software updates but not a complete overhaul.Mediocre at birth, mediocre forever.

This is a big blow to the lumia series. this is the reason I love symbian.an old phone like n8 is upgradable to Belle, and hopefully feature pack 1. Microsoft should have thought of this in the first place.wp suck. crap OS! symbian and Meego rule! the only hope for Nokia.

AnonD-50935, 18 Apr 2012Well...nokia fans were claiming that android manufacturers ... more@vnn This is like fighting now for what devices will be updated to Android 5.0.
The difference between Android and WP is there are way too no of models and while a comany is focused on upgrading an existing device, a new version of Android popups up, I am sure plenty were disappointed when samsung announced they will not update SGS to ICS.
And if I am right, the manufactures should release updates for their devices not MS, so if tomorrow Nokia decides to update 900 to WP8 it will be its decision as (if the rumors are right) WP8 will be able to run on lower hardware than WP7. In the same way as Samsung releases updates for its galazy series, the decision to update a device is in the hands of manufacturer not MS.

Dead OS! Like symbian and meego
worse of all it's not even open source so developer will not even be interested
