"Existing Hardware wouldnt support the Apollo" - You have got to be kidding me.. Apollo is expected to run on low end devices also.. with even 256mb RAM on board..

Apollo is going to take WP to mid range smartphones, and you have covered that news yourself.. Now you explain that the current hardware wont support is a load of BS to say the least..

This is absolute bullshit especially coming from the verge. The verge is becoming very notorious of spreading unfounded and negative informations about Windows Phone. I treat this story with all contempt it deserves because in the first place the verge through Joshua Toposky declared the Lumia 900 as DOA which never happened and by deliberately providing wrong figures of the Apps in the Marketplace glaringly tells how mischievous the Verge is to Windows Phone platform. The Marketplace passed 83,000 apps last week even before the launch of the Lumia 900 and its is expected to peak at 100,000 apps by June but the Verge is reporting only 60,000 and estimated that it would reach 100,000 at the end of the year which is blatantly false. I really dont know what Tom Warren is doing at the verge, I thought he left WinRumors to report on entire Windows ecosystem at Verge but I hardly hear from him lately.

So .. This is a announcement to not buy the WP from now on. Those want to change device, please buy IOS or Android, which can be easily upgraded.

I just feel sorry for Nokia because of MS !

Microsoft is in shock of Android, they are trying to force their users to upgrade to the latest phones... I think Nokia should quit dealing with them.
Besides, it is not the users' fault (neither Nokia's) if WP7 doesn't support dual-cores CPU's. They better damn release this update !!!!!!!!!!

This is tantamount to saying don't buy the current Nokia Lumia phones. I've been eyeing a Nokia Lumia 900 and now this news puts me off.

well i dont really care. i am really happy with mmy lumia 800. so whatever happens. happens. the whole idea of a business is to make money. so if you were to update existing phones. people would keep the same phone and update it. so nobody would be a new phone.

so onwards and upwards. nokia is still the best phone maker. so we will see what happens.

Kampsy, 18 Apr 2012 Do you think sgs2 will get jelly beans?ya it will surely get jelly beans and even key lime pie ( if thats the name of the next ver )
you see, thats the power of android ( i also meant a open source os )
my two years old galaxy 3 ( not s3 dumbos just 3 )was not given any support after froyo yet now i have a dual boot on it with one os ICS ( still work in progress ) and one gingerbread.

same is with sgs1, even if samsung stopped support at gingerbread, i am sure it will be one of the first devices to get jelly bean and it has already recieved ics from developers. SO WHAT ITS NOT OFFICIAL, OUR DEVICES WILL STILL GET THE UPDATES no matter oem choose to give or not.

this can be only seen in android os and until you get a android, you will not get what exactly i meant...
