Anonymous, 21 Jan 2020New version of the benchmark has lower scores. I just ran Geekbench 5.1.0 on my OnePlus 7 and got 762/2781.
That's far from 500/2200...

Tondern, 21 Jan 2020S855 devices score around 740/2630That's still far from what GSM Arena said, knowing it's Geekbench 5, that makes a big difference.
The only phone I've noticed that scored close to 500 in single core score is the Realme X2 Pro:
https://www.gsmarena.com/realme_x2_pro-review-2012p4.php.
And that is low as fuck knowing the Realme X2 Pro has a SD 855+.
My OnePlus 7 with SD 855 scored 762/2781.

The bigger question : will it crap out on 120 but LCD? Or be a proper flagship with 120hz oled? (Or even 144?)

"... Snapdragon 855 scores in the 500/2200 ballpark."
How is that possible?
I'm not familiar with the scoring mechanism of Geekbench5, but I'm pretty sure OnePlus 7T series scored more than 700 in Single-core.

That phone will be flying off the shelves. Beautiful handset. More powerful and has better camera than iPhone 11. 3x times cheaper too.

The more interesting thing will be the choice of chip for Redmi K30Pro-5G: SD865($120-$130) or Dimencity 1000 ($60-$70). Hopefully, it will be based on Dimencity 1000 (or D1000+, or D1100 if they do come in time). It will offer better 5G performance, comparable general performance (cpu, gpu), more features, and will be priced lower. For example, you can do HDR 4K video with D1000 based smartphone, since it is the 1st chip that supports multi-frame HDR. A D1100 (or D1000+) based smartphone, on the other hand, will outperform SD865.
