Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max selfie camera gets into the Top 10 in the DxOMark charts

27 January 2020
While it's a marked improvement over the XS front cam, it's still not enough to challenge the best Androids in selfie photography.

mukhi, 28 Jan 2020The most disappointing thing about iPhone 7 Plus selfie cam... moreNever had this problem on Android since Any physical button can be configured to be used as camera button including fingerprint scanner (at the back) which IMO was the best way to click a selfie.

The most disappointing thing about iPhone 7 Plus selfie cam is that it doesn't allow taking a pic by tapping "anywhere on the display" (it's fairly difficult for your index finger to reach the virtual camera button when you hold an iPhone by one hand during a selfie session).
Does this problem exist in the newer gen iPhones?

U WOT M8, 27 Jan 20201. Not Apple (Huawei Mate 30 Pro, Librem 5, Blackberry Key2... moreFirst of all you missed the /s at the end.
            As for a few others...
            1. Certainly not Huawei.
            2. It's just Asus.
            5. I have no idea how a small time company like Fairphone upholds its insurance.
            6. It's Apple, iCloud to be specific. Nothing on Android has as deep integration with the whole ecosystem.
            7. The resale value of Xiaomi? OnePlus? Realme? LMFAO? It's Apple.
            8. It could be Apple in certain metrics, but overall ROGP2. The others are meh.
            9. It's still Apple, because there's less fragmentation and customers on iOS are more inclined to pay for expensive apps. Many specialized apps remain confined to iOS, for example Adobe chose to recompile its suite for iOS, not anything on Android.
            10. I'm not sure if Fitbit/Galaxy Watch Active2 can detect a-fib. I just know that Apple Watch could.

Or the bendable iPad qualifies as "Quality" for you?
Or the "Ecosystem" that refuses to move towards standard ports or lock you with iOS.
Or "Futureproofing" meaning getting latest features 5 years late.

Funny, considering GSMArena's own 2020 best phones for selfies list; the iPhone 11 Pro sure isn't the top choice for quality selfies - washed out colours.

For that price, you'd certainly expect better.

Apparently, DXOmark does not measure camera integration, IDK if they could but IMO, these newer iPhones have the best camera hardware and software integration with almost the same parity between cameras and seamless switching between them while Android phones just slaps lots of cameras that looks nowhere near each other's image quality. Even 3rd party apps like "Filmic Pro" for example have already adapted their app to iPhones, the level of integration is insane! Check the Multicam feature. Apple's hardware and software integration is pretty good on software development standpoint.

NotAnOpinion, 27 Jan 2020Yeah, because best in security, best in battery performance... moreWhile the iPhone excels in iOS (optimization and updates), ecosystem; and quality, I cannot say the iPhone is great for gaming nor it has great service quality.

iPhone 11 may perform well in games, there is barely any frame drops or stutters in graphics intensive games (like PUBG Mobile, crank graphics settings to HDR and framerate to Extreme, and this machine runs smoothly if antialiasing is off), but touch response is not that fast to my taste and my hand obscures the bottom speaker if playing in landscape mode. The device itself is also too thick for me, and the notch is a nuisance.

iPhone may have AppleCare+ but it does cost a lot and lasts only a year. The back panel is also extremely expensive to replace.

Again it's the OS and futureproofing that makes me credit and buy an iPhone...

But even worse, by your same logic you can say that the nokia is $1000 cheaper than the pixel 4 XL, S10+, mate 30 (by almost the same amount of "total points" than the iphone).

Zenfone 6z is the best for selfies irrespective of lighting conditions complete with gcam and 4k 60fps with slow motion recording.
