There was a post on XDA-Developers stating "It’s no secret that Huawei’s latest flagship phones does not support Google Apps. At launch, there was a way to sideload the GMS and Google Play Services, but that was quickly taken down". So I assumed this was still the case.

I reckon Huawei will continue doing very good in China and Europe.

T... moreOf course. I think every person goes to this site know about the GMS issue. And you just agreed on what I just said earlier, part of reasons why no price hiking on P40 (with vanilla version become cheaper). While Samsung take advantage on Huawei issue by hiking the price up, theres no benefit on us, as consumers.
Plus there are always people bought Huawei device outside China, eventhough without GMS. They can easily spend their money on Samsung or Apple, but no. These type of people are know what their needs for the money are, and of course already know that sideloading GMS just took less than 5 minutes.
About these P40 series, pretty sure it will launch on many countries unlike previous Mate 30 series, as they'll introduce new HMS for people outside China this time around. (Likely sideloading GMS wont be a problem as well).

Of course they decrease price. But even with decreased price unfortunately Huawei phones are dead to me and anyone I know around me in EU.
To consider like this they have to sell p40 premium for 400euro...

There's no way they were able to put higher price than last year. As long as they will not have google services they success outside of china will be very limited.
Samsung knows that their sales will not be impressive so they are doing same as apple - just trying to earn more money with higher prices even if they will sell less.

Y... moreAgree. I bought Mate 30 Pro for my wife and it took me only 10minutes to make it business-as-usual with google play service. No hassle, all google apps work smoothly, and no one emptied her bank account. P40 Pro will definitely be my choice.
No matter what Trump does to Huawei, there will always be workaround provided. I assume Google secretly allow it that way.
