Why doesn't Huawei just open up bootloader unlock again? If this was xiaomi people would still be buying it, because they can sideload Google apps or flash custom ROM. However, that's impossible with Huawei.

Why would anyone buy this massive piece of crap.
huawei is dead to me, going the same way as HTC, bye bye.
should have took care of the customers who brought you good times, like the ones you screwed over by locking the bootloader down.
I'm happy that they're on the back foot, they deserve it.

Sad that the basic P40 doesn't have a headphone jack. Honor flagships don't even have a jack too. Don't they want more money? The customers they're losing are customers who are fans of Huawei/Honor but has the decency to buy headphones from the most reputable companies such as Audio Technica.

Best buy vanilla P40. Unfortunetly it got no Google Services.... Which îs kind of dealbreaker în Europe.

Great price of p40. It should be 600€ for every flagship. Let's see how big difference will be compared to p40 pro and p40 pro premium.

Huawei already have HMS instead of GMS. Huawei already have an alliance with Tom Tom.
Its possible to use Google earth instead of maps.
And its possible to side load Google Play store too.
Even so. There are other apps out there that are a substitute or even better than Google maps. Especially the navigational focused apps. Such as GPS navigation based apps for commuters.
Apps can be downloaded through various other app stores. And it's possible to do many other things with P40 Pro.
Not at all an issue or problem. More like an opportunity to have a decent flagship without Google. Simple alternative. Why not?

I would get the vanilla P40 just for 100 euro more - 700 euro just to have the Google Services. It's a real deal braker for ME the lacks of Maps/YouTube/Gmail and other security stuff just to pay with the phone via NFC.
