Huawei P40 phones will be cheaper than the P30

28 January 2020
The price cut may have something to do with the lack of Google Mobile Services.

No cheap enough to be bothered with side loading / cracking Google services. Don't need it for free without Google. Thanks

P40 Pro Premium will be monster. No match there will be!
You can install google services as showed by mate30pro. So this is only an excuse from apple samsung and other brands fanboys.

    Go Huawei! Kill the competition!

I think they should lower the prices a little bit more to have a chance. GMS is so important in countries outside China. There are barely no alternatives like for example Google Maps. And the Coronavirus could also hinder their production line. They need a sell out. And perhaps Huawei funds will help the Chinese government to eradicate the said virus. Give and take relationship.

Unlock the bootloader Huawei and I will handle the rest.

The punch holes destroyed this phone... Ohh well, i guess i'll be venturing with sony now. Bye huawei...

That proves, Huawei could sell their devices at much lower price tag. But they didn't , they were robbing general customers.

If i want the Google spyware i can install it at any time, and better choosing the open nano version. Or the one with only the services i want.

Give me better prices that if i want bloatware and spyware i'll install it by myself. I hope that the Mate 40/ 40 Pro or Premium will follow this trend as one of those could be my future target and come with better prices that the Mate 30 series did.

Hoping that the Mate 40s are cheaper than their 30 equivalents as well.

I really hope this is true. Still don't like Huawei but I am starting to hate others more for charging €1100+. A flagship should cost €999 at absolute max and only when it's using all cutting edge technology without any compromises. But everything with 4 digits is too much!

Yeah but the coronavirus outbreak is slowing down the production of the P40. And price needs to go even lower in certain markets to compensate for the lack of Google Play services. Sideloading Google services is not reliable anyway. It seems a great phone to me. S20 is a cheat and quietly pricier than iPhone 11 Pro.

Without Google Play this mobile phone has very limited functionality in Europe. Huawei is trying to replace Google Play with their own software center but so far there are no great results. A lot of apps are missing especially those connected with banking apps etc. In China Google services ban is not noticeable but in Europe is different story. They need to cut price even more in order to be competitive with hendikep they have at the moment.

Seems like they remove ir blaster ... =(

Take this with a grain of salt, the flip was rumoured to start at 800$ but it starts at 1400$ considering the prices of the mate 30 pro, this has better hardware and camera capabilities so there's no way it can be cheaper than the mate 30 pro starting at 1100$

Wow . Thank you Huawei. Samsung rips customers off with 1400 Euro S20 family.

Great move, Huawei. That means in my country the vanilla P40 will be $500, Pro $700 & Premium $900 (estimation based on previous P30)

Sideload GMS will only take less than 5 minutes of hassle, dont mind with that.

But i'll wait on next Mate 40.
