I think that the current voting system isn't effective.
It's hard to say something about the over-all performance of a phone (everybody has different oppinions), instead you can appreciate the most proeminent feature of a phone.
I wish that I could vote for an aspect of a phone. If I like the camera of a phone, but the phone has some things I don't like, beeing in the vote menu I will give a like (using Facebook or right from the site) for this phone in the camera options. If there have been sections like design, batery life, camera, media capabilities, connectivity and so on ( GSM team should choose them ) then we could know more exactly what are the pluses and the minuses of a phone. The over all best phone would be that phone that appears in the top of the most of the sections ( it needs a strong math formula to calculate that). The 3rd variant seems more aproached to me, but it will be nicier if people musn't login with Facebook - everyone should have the possibility to vote. Thanks!

Hmmm, I wonder which OS fanboys do this the most? I bet it starts with an "A".
I wonder if there's a way to find out, like a pie chart or graph maybe?
Anyway, I like the idea that another poster had where you get honest Staff Ratings and then you give the fanboys with no life their own rating that they can play with to their hearts content. So wipe out the Current Rating system and add a Staff Member rating chart.

Anonymous, 20 Apr 2012You should begin accepting votes based on IP, that way, som... moreMost people are on Internet with dynamic IPs. If u restrict by IP, fanboys can always reconnect to get a different IP and a genuine voter might not be able to vote because so happen his currently assigned IP have been used by someone else.
Also, it is not scalable. Each time someone vote, it has to go thru a list of IPs that have voted.

use a common login system for your site and restict the voting limit to one for one phone only for the entire login cycle for entire account

HEY! Look more closely at the problem, make the voting more intricate or detailed, force registration and only allow one "vote" per phone per, registered user.

As users we are able to offer far more then ANY reviewer, our in-depth and diverse experiences offer what time can only tell-something reviews cannot offer short of previewing the entire product manual. Fan boys would be limited to one vote and feel joy in bringing attention to a phones particularly fast video capture (LG KU990) If they wish they can post their own review on the profile page (consumer history perhaps?) but ultimately the options will depend on resources, as does everything. I really need a conversation with someone for this to be worthwhile.
Goodluck.

Opt 3 would be fine. Also you could put a captcha for a vote.

i like the 3rd option . The result is accurate and open. So 3 is the best one.

if you cant beat them dont. just add the gsmarena staff scores next to them and then finally add a "fanboy following" rating (that can swing +/- to show haters), so that a subjective view can be made.

hehehe... i dont know what you should do in this regard but what i know is that You shouldn't have given your 3 options now most of the people will suggest 1 of these options instead of coming up with their own new ideas. Edit your post if you can. Thanks

I sugggest you go for option 3 but for fraudulent votes can be minimized with IP based votes.
