It was the time to bring this up. I love your reviews but I do not pay attention at all with your voting system as it is not accurate at all, and can be manipulated easy. I would suggest number 2, as I believe you can implement it immediately. As always a big kudo to you. Keep up the good work :)

I think that the 3rd one is the best choice. Just put there an explanation why there are no entries in the beginning, for people that don't know about it.
We will lose the diversity of info about the devices, but it is better than a diversity with incorrect info that confuses people.
Whatever you do, I wish you success!

We can use CAPTCHA protection, which will rule out the fake votes cast by software scripts. Will be irritating for 'dedicated fanboys' as well.
IMEI number method would limit voting to '1 vote per person', which might not be good for reviewers and enthusiasts.

Resetting d scores would be good to give old phones a fresh chance.
Have a filter with MAC id number adress that does not allow more than 1 vote per mac id per phone. Also only for gsm arena loged in users.
The layout should b kept the same.
The facebook way of +ve voting can also get rigged, so d end result wldnt b much different. Hence not worth d effort.

I think option 2 sounds most reasonable. In addition I would like to make the following suggestions:
1. The possibility to log in with other social accounts like Google, Yahoo, Hotmail etc.
2. The introduction of new rating section based on expert's reviews (in addition to the existing one). GSMARENA reviews are excellent but only give Pros and Cons without engaging itself with actual rating.

It is very sad to hear this, my suggestion for this to put one more criteria such ask IMEI number of the device while voting, with this only actual unique votes are voted thus it makes voting much reliable.

Anonymous, 19 Apr 2012None of these are methodologically sound alternatives. I sa... moreI agree with this comment, I never pay any attention to your voting system, however i pay great detail to your reviews. If you guys yourselves were to do a system of 1-10 and categorize the phones into high, mid and low range phones, i reckon that would be a much more appealing option.... forget about having the users vote, thats what the comment system is about anyways. I want a professional rating with consumer reviews. None of this user rating nonsense, no matter what you di the whole system is not trustable.

I would rather say lets go with the third option, it gives us fairly completely transparent idea of getting to know which is the one that would be longing for.

AnonD-51294, 20 Apr 2012You should go with split system. Split the voting percentag... morethis is a good way, change the mathematics behind the voting system... also, why no validation code? now you can simply click on Vote and all is done... add a validation code, 4 digits at least, that way when you click on Vote, you'd be asked to enter the validation code provided by the system to confirm your not some kina of bot... ofcourse, it still allows some misvoting, but it makes it more time-consuming and less easy...

Hi, why not combine 2 & 3? Only vote if you log in - and then you can only vote positive. I think you need the login part - similar to youtube - so you can only vote *once* for your favourite phone. That should stop people clicking 'like' all day long ....All the best.
