I vote for option 2. Simple and effective.

However! Many people will still max out the stats on their own handsets... It's human nature, I suppose.

It would be great to see an additional GSM rank table which charts current models based upon expert opinion. It'll still be subjective, but it will mean far more than the opinion of the great unwashed. You will, however, risk enraging the iOS/Android fanboys.

          Hi...
I would suggest to modify the current system,
whereby only logged in users can vote and they are allowed to vote only once per phone.

In such cases it will help in giving only reasonable votes to viewers.
The database has to some how detect the username of the logged in user and allow him/she once.

          regards.

Why raising this issue only now?

After months having samsung's galaxy s2 in no 1 without any problem or doubt, as soon as it leaves the top questions arise about the top's manipulation, accuracy and reliability?

            Strange, indeed.
            Very suspicious.

Is samsung and advertisers' pressure behind this "fixing"?

option 2 is more appropriate but you need either your membership system or include others not only facebook, e.g. I use discus account to post my comments on your blog.
option 1 has the same disadvantage like the current one if you disable the ones they can still vote by twos threes..
option 3 is just meaningless , you said it will produce more accurate; i just dont get it! This way all results are meaningless, how can someone emphasize on functionality or usefulness of a phone? or how can he differentiate his desire for different phones?!
So i think the 2nd option is the best one.
and thank you for hard job and considering your readers opinion.

Voting allowed only for logged in users
Each user can set a device (or two) as currently using and he can give a rating to such devic(es). He can change the rating or the device once in a week.

3rd choice plus to make an option before voting , 1-i have this phone and i vote (........) , 2-i don't have this phone but i will vote (......) , and no one has more than 5 phones ;) , and gsmarena will show the votes of the ones who owned it already and the ones who don't own it , so it will be accurate when you take the experience of the real owned ones (:

The best is #2, that way the people that care will go though out the process and vote, not perfect but better.

is it possible to creat a database of all phones serial numbers ...so ..nobody can vote unless he really has the phone ..and he is able to vote with his imei once only .

sorry if my suggestion is stupid

                              1. Leave the voting system as it is.

I think 3 would be best. Everybody just votes for what they think is the single best phone on the market. I think a system where at the end of the month the top phones have their results archived would be good. This will be good because it will show which were the best phones of the past and give credit to them.

A login such as facebook would be used to stop crazy fanboys.

Regarding features, design and performance sections, I think an aggregate of the GSM arena editors figures could be use for use on the info page for each phone. This would no longer feature on the front page of the website.

that way you can find whos done multiple votes etc.
i dont think people place TOO much emphasis on a phones popularity as a precursor as to weather they will buy it or note.

Option no. 3 seems best to me. Either you like the phone or you don't, there's no point in some different marks, like in school. The most popular phones would be up there, which is the whole idea.
