In that case my next phone most certainly won't be an HTC. It really makes no sense, how hard can it be to take the hardware from an existing phone and slam a harware keyboard on it? It's not like it needs any development or whatever. Too bad that they are forgetting that there are people willing to trade a milimeter or two of thickness for being able to comfortably write a text longer than a few words on a phone. I hope they will change their mind about this.

CRAP! I'm waiting for the update for the freakin' chacha...oh well, looks like i'm going to throw it and replace it with a way better phone like blackberry 9900...

I believe it is because of that survey in which the idiotic and stupid people give more thumbs up to the slim juice-less phones. I am hating the way technology is going, fine keep making expensive toys for those stupid users but do not forget the serious productive power and loyal users too.

Maybe they have been declining because the last decent qwerty phone was 800mhz...

comon HTC this isnt the solution. why dont you come up with better phones in Chacha/Status series? i loved the physical qwerty on chacha but buggy software, worst battery life and lack of support ruined it.

Nobody uses them anymore, they were good as... moreyou are wrong a lot of people still using them and I am one of them ,htc decision was because the company suffers from a lot of financial problems ,and htc ain't sony ain't nokia so one more loss for htc ;the game is over , I am expecting that htc will announce that it will not manufature the small screen smart phones in the next step, for the people who didn't use the keyboard smart phones please don't spread lies,typing with these phones is a joy and very professional,there are millions of people who bought keyboards for their iphone ,ipad,galaxy only because they know that nothing can be in the place of the real thing.

HTC is correct. Nobody uses them anymore, they were good as transition devices - from keypads to touch screens. We are past this stage. And with the advent of tablets, there is no reason to use them as "Proffesional" devices.

I on the other hand would like to get a decent dual-core phone with a physical qwerty. I would be using it like a computer and write documents with it, while not being home. But there is no such phone for european market.

No wonder why Blackberry failed to respond the whole touchscreen madness in the past, and when they keep on going with physical keyboards, failure was imminent and they're in a state of decline. I never fond of keyboards anyways, after 2 years of using my old Nokia, my keyboard failed and SMSing is quite a hassle.
In this case, I'm glad HTC is doing the right thing. Never like the extra weight & thickness anyways, not to mention big screens wasted to become smaller screens due to the presence of the physical keys.

Phones nowadays just suck. They only concentrate on how "beautiful" the phone is. I wouldn't mind if there were a few real pocket PCs for non-sheeple.
