Weekly poll: is the Poco X2 the phone you were hoping for?

09 February 2020
It's not quite a flagship killer without a top-tier chipset, but the screen, camera and battery are hard to top in its price range.

Sort by:

Yes, except for the notch and the lack of black colour

Everything is fine except ugly design and poor build quality

730g too slow to pair up with 120hz display.
      765G would have been perfect.

      Pro version gets SD865.
      Normal version gets SD765.

        I don't think the 730g is a good processor

It's not legendary like the 625 and even though it's supposed to be efficient it battery endurance on the mi note 10 is subpar

Bring on dimensity 1000, 1000l or 800 please

(Gupta Information Systems: Redmi K30/Poco X2 Durability Test)

Please watch this video about the durability test for the K30/Poco X2. When the tester tried to bend the phone, the phone snapped into half. The battery also leaked during a teardown in a separate video. Fingeprint scanner and plastic build is to blame for this.

I was actually looking forward to the Poco X2 (not buying, as I have a realme X2 Pro), however I was really dissapointed especially in terms of build quality. Redmi K20 didn't snap into half/LCD damaged during the durability test. Of course, this is a budget phone, but Xiaomi has taken too many compromises here. I don't care about camera performance in a phone like this. But build quality is at least important. Plastic frame is OK, but I prefer a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner or cheap ultrasonic/optical in-display fingerprint sensor.

My alternative is still the Redmi Note 8 Pro, realme XT/X2 (depends on region) and even Redmi K20/K20 Pro. If high-refresh rate is a must, this is tough. Honestly as a moderate user with tasking in mind and not a very competitive gamer, I don't really care about very high refresh rates. 90Hz is already very high in my opinion. Current phones but gaming phones cannot handle 120Hz/fps in most games easily, and majority of the games support only up to 60fps. There are a few games that can play at 120fps but they're extremely demanding (ex. Shadowgun Legends) or older titles (ex. Dead Trigger 2).

Imo 730G for the price is pretty good, sure it's nowhere close to what Poco F1 was, but it's a still fair value for the money (though the 120Hz screen is kinda wasted on a CPU that realistically can't run anything even on 60fps).

BUT, what's unforgivable about this phone, is that it's more tablet than a phone (over 165 mm tall!! What an absolute brick!) and it's only available in toy/girl colors (pink, ultra pink and purple/blue). It's probably the reason why it's only sold in India, I doubt anyone would buy a pink brick and use it as a daily driver in Europe.

Well, I believe Xiaomi killed all hype by using a renamed model.

dbjungle, 09 Feb 2020I already bought this as the Redmi K30 so all in all I'd sa... moreYet all these people are still complaining and comparing to the f1
Even though the f1 was full of problems, now they love it

I already bought this as the Redmi K30 so all in all I'd say I like it. This is not the Poco F2 which is also in the works. So I don't think judging it against the Poco F1 makes sense.

It's good value for money as most companies are giving underpowered phones at this price
Look at Samsung Motorola oppo huawei etc

The ones who are complaining shouldn't even consider this phone if they want a successor for the f1 as they clearly said that the f2 will be coming later so why complain

Also for the ones who want an amoled and a flagship processor at the price of this phone, you think phone companies are charities? You want everything for cheap and free?

Nope. I was hoping it will be a game changer in the mid range category but turned out to be a huge disappointment.

this is just a Redmi K30, nothing else

Sd 730G is slow procesor. If they care for the price, they should use dimensity 1000l which can provide great experience. But, maybe F2 or some pro variant will come with it.
