I don't think that this test is reliable, the test produces a lot of heat by continesuly folding and folding the phone, which will not happen with normal human being use.

... moreAccording to Samsung A heavy user can fold-unfold upto 40,000 times a year. That means 4.5 times an hour.
And frankly speaking, for a heavy users upto 5 times an hour is logical number.

So, the infamous folding Razr lasted 22% folds of what Galaxy fold did.
That's the difference between Samsung Engineering vs Other. Though the screen folding system was much better in Razr than the galaxy fold.
I wish the same test were done with Huawei mate X.
I bet that won't even last 25000 folds.

So what? Let's say you open the Phone 20 times a day (which is quite a lot), every day, for 3 years. Thats only 21.900 folds. And people barley keep their phone for even 2 years.

excuse me, WHO and HOW defined the number of folds to be reached? why not 1.000.000? or just 1.000? before " just", anyone thought how many folds are reasonable? for exemplification: if those 27,000 foldings are performed in (a very optimistic average...) 5 years of use, this means 5,400 foldings / year = 14.8 complete foldings / day. now, how many of you keep a phone for 5 (five) years and how many of you is going to completely fold a phone for about 15times/day? one time per each awake hour... unless you are hired as a phone switch or a secretary...
ok, everybody wants something he / she hopes to last for ever, and more than 27,000 wold be nice, but, again who and how defines the number of foldings to be reasonable and not " just...."?

Continuous fold/unfold on a machine is an unrealistic scenario, subjecting the hinge to far more heat and stress than would be experienced in real world usage. These tests are like Jerry's "can I snap this in half with all my might" and lighter tests - good for clicks, but otherwise pointless.

We should embrace the concepts. It's the only way forward. It's certainly a very nice phone. And will last as long as a phone should last for really. Within 2x years of purchase. People ought to be thinking about buying a new phone anyway. Why have a phone 2 years out of date?
Surely there would be even more amazing concept phones and phones 2x years from now.
And that is a very good thing. I usually change a few times a year anyway. And looking to change just once a year. Hopefully will be able to buy a new phone the first day of official sale of either a Xiaomi black shark 3 5G or ZTE Nubia Red Magic 5G. Have to carefully compare each.
Hopefully a gaming phone should be easier to choose. Because right now there are so many good flagship conventional handsets that it is becoming so difficult to choose between. Because they are all really good.

Well its just one phone they should test at least 10 and get accurate results of each of them and get average result from 10 devices. Maybe the other ones would last 3-4 times more.
