If i wasn't waiting for the note 20 series I'd definitely get this do you think you can really see the 4k on the screen?

VectorR, 24 Feb 2020Actually very small, subtle differences with previous model... moreThe main cam is actually a completely new sensor, it's a 12 MP 1/1.7 inch sensor(much larger than the previous 1/2.55, and now has dual PD and a new pixel design for twice as much light capture, megapixels is not the only specs for a camera.

Nick Tagataka, 24 Feb 2020IMO this phone will be seriously a good buy if it's priced ... moreusually sony is pretty well optimised. i will also wait for the price to go down a bit, there is no 5g in my country yet anyway.

[deleted post]I don't see any phones from your beloved brand in here
              https://androidenterprisepartners.withgoogle.com/devices/#!?aer

This year is not the time to upgrade my cellphone but if I have to buy a new phone this year i rather buy a phone from Xiaomi or Realme than wasting my money on Samsung phones because why should I have to spend a lot of money if Samsung does not provide the best support in terms of updates and security.

In terms of prestige Samsung phones will also always be inferior to the iPhone and even though iPhones have expensive prices at least they provide long support for their phones as well as the best support from third-party applications.

Raky, 24 Feb 2020And a price??? Is is also over $1000!? If it is...sorry S... moreIMO this phone will be seriously a good buy if it's priced under $900. I think it's still worth paying $1000 though, assuming that they nail the software optimisation as well.

                    Things i don't like:
                    - 21:9
                    - No high refresh rate (still not sure i can notice that)
                    - no reverse wireless charging
                    -no FM

                    I like:
                    - design with no curved glass
                    - side mounted FP
                    - camera setup
                    - 3.5 jack with DAC
                    - IP rating
                    - Qi charging
                    - front facing stereo

But still, everything needs to be checked

Shui8, 24 Feb 2020Couldnt agree more. Sony upped their game this year.I should also add the fact that I love the combination of chamfered edges and flat sides with chromium painting, it gives the phone a unique and fresh but also nostalgic feeling at the same time.. sort of reminding me of iPhone 5S and Xperia Z2's boxy, industrial design. Sony is serious this time around to take on Samsung and major Chinese phone manufacturers. This but with SD855 instead of SD865 is what the first gen Xperia 1 should've been. I've never got so excited with a new Xperia flagship since 2014, and now I'm eager for real life reviews to come up.

Exyvia, 24 Feb 2020The width of the phone is less than an Iphone 11 because of... moreTo be precise, for 16:9 content like videos you have a black border on both sides, and the size is comparable to older smartphones: 6.5" * 0.8 = 5.2". The Samsung Galaxy S5/S7 have 5.1" size and no border because it is 16:9, a flat display as well. Of course, there are use cases for a taller display like social media browsing, but normally the entries are unrelated, and there is no advantage in seeing more in the overview. Ebooks could profit a bit, but of course a tablet or desktop LCD are far better with multi-column display.

Shanti Dope, 24 Feb 2020If Sony could bring back the headphone jack, then Apple and... moreProbably not 21:9 4K display because Apple probably would hate a display with stretched aspect ratio and battery drain from extra resolution, but it's likely that they would bring 120Hz 3K panel instead.

Love the Community, 24 Feb 2020Blah blah blah you whack jack hater! You were one of us. A ... moreWhat I was supposed to say was the jack shouldn't have been removed in the first place. Sony did it out of peer pressure and their sales are bleeding not only because of lackluster camera algorithms but the lack of a jack as the people saw LG, Samsung and Sony to be the last bastion of 3.5mm jacks at a time. With Samsung gone because of it, Sony will soon comeback thanks to Alpha Team's involvement with the camera algorithms and the headphone jack. Soon Samsung will take a 180 (Galaxy S7) by bringing back what the people wanted which is a jack. Oh yeah, to really kill the wireless fad, they should have a Quad or Sabre DAC equipped.

Tann Hauser, 24 Feb 2020Fortunately for you, it has DNG/Raw support. Heck it even ... moreSaw that as well. These are the way Sony should've done long ago! Those are one of the key specs that i'm interested about.

Seems like they are seriously combine all the expertize they had on other department onto this beast!

Sony havent made me excited for years, until now. Thank you Sony.

Love my Galaxy Buds and will never go back to wires. I like the fact that Sony is still alive in smartphone market but unfortunately they make a very little difference so far. Damn, that's impressive AF (pun intended).

                                      Symmetrical bezels with dual speakers?
                                      A good ol' headphone jack?
A triple camera setup with a larger sensor, faster burst and longer zoom reach?
                                      Huge battery?

Bring 'em on Sony, you've already nailed the hardware side. Now, if you can develop software that can take full advantage of those impressive specs that will be perfect. This phone is on my wishlist right along with Mi 10 Pro and P40 Pro Premium. Superb job from Sony so far.

With that said, I wish it had a real 90/120Hz display instead of some weird "motion blur reduction" implementation. That sounds a bit like a cheap marketing talk to me than anything else. But I really, really love the fact that they decided to bring back the headphone jack. Finally there's a phone company who came back to their senses.

Cameras are nearly the same (in fact all four of them), no 90Hz or 120Hz screen but cheap trick instead, same design, no Wireless / Reverse Wireless charging again (damn it!), no in-screen fingerprint sensor or 3D face recognition, useless 5G for now and the same over $1000 price tag again. I ain't buying it Sony, thanks!
